Lawnmower is 2 years old and now when batterys(2-12volt)are put on charger and the green lite comes on the mower only runs for about 2 minutes. Is there any way of getting memory back or are they sacked?

Can't help you directly but consider the following
Relying on the fact that lawnmower makers don't make too many basic changes, may I suggest that you take a digital camera and go visit your local Home Depot and/or Lowes and take a picture of the belt arrangement on a new mower. I bet they are almost all the same.
Hope this helps Loringh PS Please leave a rating if this works

There should be 1 or 2 screws on the carb. You will probably have to remove the air breather to get to the screw(s). I've been seeing a lot of these types of questions, new equipment not running properly. Factory settings were not set properly.
When you find the screw(s), screw in a clockwise direction until it stops; DON'T SCREW DOWN TIGHT, JUST UNTIL IT STOPS. Then unscrew counter clockwise 1 1/4 turns. Try starting.
Continue this process, 1/4 turn at a time up to 2 1/2 full turns. If you forget where you are at on the turning process, start over by screwing back down. Then pick up process where you left off.
If you need further assistance, just let me know.

Could be float in carb.sticking.Take carb off & apart.Put float in water to see if it floats.Check float by shaking next to ear.If you hear any sound, you need a new float.

Sounds like you might have a fuel flow restriction, maybe an in line filter?
