I poured water into my kettle while the element was hot, it made a clicking noise and never worked again. I'm thinking fuse? Are these problems able to be fixed?
There's a thermal cutout that trips if the regular safety switch isn't enough. According to the manual, if the thermal cutout trips you have to send it back to Breville for servicing.
That may be what happened, if just letting it cool down and trying again didn't work.
This site won't let me add additional information. There is one thing you can do-- the regular safety switch is supposed to reset when you take the kettle off the base and then put it back on. It is possible that it has gotten gunked up. Look inside the socket on the bottom of the kettle, you may see two white plastic levers. Give 'em a gentle poke with a pencil eraser or something like that and then put it back on the base. It may then work.
