I was given a non-working monitor by my brother, i am attempting to diagnose the issue and having a bit of trouble. When plugged into ANYTHING multiple computers, multiple DVI, VGA, Different power cords. It always comes up with a flashing amber light. I have looked up the service manual however it seems to be missing some info, After lloking through that, and intensive internet searching i am led to believe it is most likely the power supply, power inverter, or a logic board. I am however unsure, any help to lead me in the right direction of a diagnoses so i can purchase parts to repair it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time.

For DVI you need to probably upgrade your cheap graphics card, something not that expensive would be a ATI Radeon HD2400 Pro, it'll do. May want to check what pwer supply maybe required on your PC.

if you go into the screens menu, there will be a button for contrast and brightness. When you have the one you want selected, press munu again and that will bring up the dialog to change the percentages.

I had bad cap two rated 220 mf at 25 volts in a 1922 acer any doomed capacitors need to be replaced with like value caps. that is a start

use the onboard graphics instead of a seperate graphics card (if installed) to test the screen.if it still doesn't work then unplug your monitor from the mains supply and plug in again to reset it. i doubt it's your monitor that is the problem though. but look on the back of your pc for another connection for your screen. the onboard graphics connection is normally vertical near your ethernet port and mouse and keyboard inputs.
please rate me and give me a fixya! if it helped.

Been there, done that. The power LED cycling indicates that the switchmode PSU is shutting down and trying to restart over. Standard symptom, let me guess the bulging cap is on the top row. Replace it with a same value/voltage (1000uF/10V from memory) low ESR 105C type and you'll be back in business.
