Brad..thx for the suggestion.. I don't see a filter of any sort,. Jacuzzi support is sending me a new filler tube. BTW: Filling took 5 mins...then when I removed the water line and checked it...now it takes the 10-12 mins I posted.. ummmm ...again thx.

What type of fill hose connects to that. Almost sounds like it is collapsed OR kinked

Brad...this is what I have..Watts 3-Pack 3/8-in Compression 12-in Braided Stainless Steel Toilet .. thx for trying tohelp

Shut the water off at the valve to the wall, Unhook the flex connect to the tank, Get a bucket and direct the hose into the bucket and turn on the water. Tell me how the pressure is and how fast it fills the buck. Note you can use a one gallon jug and time it to see how long it takes to fill that.

  • PJGU May 16, 2013

Brad...again thxs... did so this a.m. ,, Results 1gal per 28 seconds and I did have the shutoff/pressure wide open.. Did receive a replacement part from Jacuzzi last night. Will change it out... BUT BUT the problem appears to be when the water goes into the FILL TUBE. It appears to go into a BLACK HOLE.

  • Brad Brown May 16, 2013

You have good flow and pressure. The only things it could be is the in tank valve assembly. So it is either out of adjustment, has a design flaw due to machining or other issue OR the water is all being directed to the hose that fills the bowl.

Brad..thx for all your help... Replaced the tank valve assembly/Filler/float and all is working great

What about sand? There may be a screen in the filler that is dirty and needs to be cleaned.

  • Brad Brown May 16, 2013

There is definately a problem with that fill device in the tank. It could be one of two things. The orifice is too small because of design or machining. Or the tube that fills the BOWL is getting all the water.

SOURCE: Once my tank has filled (toto toilet) the fill

The fill valve isn't adjusted correctly. Does it have a ballcock or a newer fill valve? If it's the ballcock, there's a screw in the middle of the fill valve that you can loosen to lower the ballcock. If it's newer, you'll see a float that surrounds the fill valve. It has a small metal clip toward the bottom that you need to pinch to raise or lower the float. It also has a large plastic screw with a phillips head at the top for fine tuning.

SOURCE: tank won't fill unless I push down on flush valve inside toilet

Hello there
ok first when the valve inside of the tank is wearing out or is dirty this will happen you can take a washrag and clean the underside of themechanism really good and also the part that it rests on providing that you can get to it

if there are no screws to adjust the water reg valve see if it will turn clockwise to shorten the arm making it turn off or if needed turn it counter clock wise i have had to also slightly bend the arm down in some units to make the water stop after the tank is full so you may want to try that too ok
hope that this helps
best regards michael

SOURCE: hissing sound in tank (fill valve)

Dear Sir,

It appears you need to adjust the float level so that it applys more pressure quickly to completely shut off the water going into the main filler tube. Does the hissing go away when you lift up on the float toward the ceiling? If it does, then you need to what I said above. Turn your float ball out farther, or carefully bend your rod down toward the base of the toilet so that it applies more pressure quickly. This should solve your issue.

SOURCE: I have a Jacuzzi Perfecta toilet (bought Aug. 21,

Have you tried shutting water off and take top of valve appart and flush it out. It may have something in valve causing water to be restricted. It will have an arrow on it to direction to get it to come off.

Take appart and clean rubber disc and you can put something over top of valve , a small cup or something to enable you to flush the tank. Have someone help you and hold the cup above the valve so that when you turn water on for a few bursts to flush out the valve it goes into tank.

The actual stream that flows through valve is restricted down to almost 1/8 " opening so it wouldn't take mush to block the flow of water.

The disc you take out you can replace it, if it seems to be damaged and not working correctly. That will affect the flow also.

Testimonial: "I took the valve apart. It is working like it is supposed to. That sure is a tiny hole for the fill water to shoot through. that is why it is so slow. It still whistles when filling. Tnx Walter Neaves"

Flapperless toilet tank not refilling with water what should I do?

ensure that the supply line is clear. shut angle stop valve off and remove line from bottom of tank place line into a pail and open angle stop valve, if clear water will flow quite readily. if not replace line. the fill valve is available at home depot. personally I would replace toilet with a quality American Standard. if your toilet is not a Glacier Bay good luck finding repair parts.

The toilet takes a long time to refill after a flush would there be a certain part that is plugged or wore out ?

Is the flapper valve slow to return to the closed postion allowing water to flow through the flush valve? Make sure the toilet flapper is moving freely and is sealing properly against the flush valve. If there is no lengthy or continual water flow in to the toilet bowl then this is not the problem.

Is the water valve on the water fill line to the toilet tank fully open? This may seem silly but it could be this simple.

Check to make sure your fill valve is opening fully. If you have an older toilet there may be some deposits that need to be cleaned way to allow free movement.

If toilet does eventually fill to the desired level, there is no leakage, water valve on fill line is fully open and fill valve is opening fully then recommend you shut off water supply, drain toilet and disconnect water fill line from the water valuve and toilet tanke to make sure there is not a blockage. If the water line and connections are clear you may need to remove the fill pipe in the tank and check for blockage. If this is very old, conisdering the cost and effort, it may be simpler to replace at this time rather than trying to extend the life.

My fluidmaster toilet tank filler must be plugged up. It takes 15 minutes to fill the tank. What do I do? Thank you.

This is common with high iron content in the water

The fastest, cleanest thing to do is replace it with another fill valve.
Fluidmaster makes good fill valves, that are available all over.

Another possibility, depending on the age of the house, is some type of buildup or debris in the supply line or valve.

Toilet cistern doesn't fill up

it sounds like one or more of your shut off valves has a glog from hard water calcium. were from indiana its a big problem here.To check this u will have to shut off main water supply and remove top of shut off valve and check for white crusty blockage, even if u see a few particals its present. It can severely restrict flow.

Toilet will not fill up

Some Toto fill valves have a plastic debris screen located at the inlet connection. Turn off the supply valve and remove the supply connection at the bottom of the tank. Use a mirror to inspect the screen for debris.
I agree w/ Smithbrother, the Fluidmaster fill valves are cheap and work well. The only thing they ever need is an occasional seal for $1.50 and 5 minutes to replace.

Our American Standard toilet flushes ok but fills back up real slow. Very little water comes out of the hose that goes in to that tube. Can you help Thanks Howard

Okay Howard. It seems that the fill or float valve inside the toilet tank needs to be replaced. If you have a pair of channel locks / large pliers and some patience, you can do this yourself and save $ on a service call. This Solution is providing that you have good water pressure everywhere else in the house. First turn off the water on the supply line going to the tank. Flush the toilet (with the water off) to empty the tank. Take a towel / sponge / or wet vac to remove any remaining water. Remove the nut on the underside of the tank that holds the float / water supply to the tank. Now that you have the water float removed you can go to your local hardware store / Home Depot / or Plumbing Supplies Store and get a new fill valve. There are different kinds but they all do the same thing, fill your tank. I use a Fluid Master, But you may have to use one like you have. The Store will assist you. They are only about $10 - $15 Bucks or so.......Install the new float according to directions.....It is pretty simple. Insert your new float stem into the hole with the proper rubber washers and tighten carefully for a good seal. Insert the new black hose into the overflow tube and you are in business. You will have to adjust the water level to about a 1/4 Inch below the overflow tube for a good flush!!! I hope this helps you with the slow tank fill.............Joe

Toto Toilet - no water flow to refill tank after flush

Remove the tank lid and look at the fill valve. Is it a yellow valve?
This fill valve is common on the Toto Toilets and can easliy plug with debrie.

They can be disassmbled and cleaned. however, I usually just replace the valve with Fluid Master Fill valve.
You will also want to check the water coming into the toilet by turning off the water that supplies the toilet and disconnecting the water supply line. After removing the water supply line turn on the water at the valve to make sure that the water is flowing properly. Check the supply line also to make sure it is not plugged.
Be sure and place a small container to catch the water that will come from the valve. A towell will also help from making too much of a mess.
If the Supply line and the valve are clear the problem is in the fill valve.
The G-Max system denotes the Flushiing system which is a 3" flapper that allows the water from the tank to flow into the bowl quicker.
Good Toilets!
