Emachine t1840 wiring diagram power switch wire to mother board ?

Because there are so many different case and motherboard combinations sometimes it can be difficult following the instructions for connecting the front panel, USB header and audio header.

Below is a few generic guide that should stop some of the confusion with the labels on the wires.

Front Panel Audio

***Please note this is a generic wiring guide and we can not guarantee it will work with every motherboard. Please check your motherboard manual first. Wiring the headers wrong can cause damage to the motherboard and case, this damage is not covered by the warranty***

another handy USB wiring guide can be found here http://www.directron.com/installusb.html

this maybe easier to follow

Need help with enachine t2528 wiring power sw wire on mother board

If you open the CPU cabinet you will find the front panel connection pins at opposite right corner to the motherboard IO ports (where we connect all the power, monitor, keyboard, mouse chords) You can easily identify it as below these pins it will be named as P_Sw or P_Bt,Pw_led ,Hdd_led etc

Power supply for Emachine

WhoDoctorK9 is right. You'll need the model number of the pc to pull up any schematics of the board. This is, however, how you solve this problem. Just google your model number and try to find a schematic of the board.

If you can't find the schematic, the board should be marked with some sort of 'pwr' blah blah white lettering. It's hit & miss, but you can find the connection without visual aid by dimensions of the plugs and the obscure little identifiers on the board itself.

Good luck and may the force be with you. :P

No boot, New PS, Green light on MB lights, No Fans running

Bottom line: Either your power supply or (hopefully not) the mother board has gone bad.
Replace power supply (remove old one), take to local independent computer shop, ask them for new unit. Should be around $50.00. - no more. After reinstall, if still no fans, boot, etc. Replace motherboard or buy a new machine. MB's installed probably will run you around $250.00-ish.
Good luck.

Wire came loose on pavilion xe 734 that supplie power to hard dir

First of all these wires don't supply power to HDD. These wires are for indicator LEDs on the front
panel of the cabinet. One wire `power sw' is to switch on the system from the power button on front panel. `power led' wire is of the power led on the front panel. All these wires will be connected to the cluster of pins on one corner of the mother board. If you can see it will be indicated & printed near the cluster of pins on the mbd, that which pair of pins is meant for what connector. Try to correlate the names on connector with the print on the mbd.

Emachine t2542

When you say out, do you mean they are broken, or just disconnected? Most of these computers have a plug on the end of the wires to the front panel and it just plugs into the system board. If you look at the board you'll see where the front panel wires go. Sometimes it's hard to read the small type, but there are labels on the board that tell you what connector does what.
