Gather your GPS and the USB cable that fits it. Try performing a "master reset"as described on Garmin page. Make sure you back up any info you need, first. Next, go to Garmin's Web Updater page. Download and install any updates as per instructions on the page.

If, the version of the firmware is already up to date, you may consider "rolling back" the firmware to a previous version. It is possible that the new firmware is the cause of the problem - it has happened to others including me on my 760. You can not obtain the older firmware from Garmin - but you can get them here - free of charge. Make SURE you get firmware for the nuvi 750 (if that is indeed your model)! Attempting to install another model firmware could render the unit unusable. Start with the version number immediately prior to the installed version number and see if the freeze ups stop. Go back as far as you want - but realize some functionality of the unit may go away, or a different issue may be introduced.

If all else fails, you can arrange for "repair" with Garmin Tech Support. They simply send you a refurbished unit with the latest maps and a 90 day warranty. You do NOT get your unit back - so back up and remove any personal info before sending it out.
