Error code F7 keeps coming up, what does this mean?

  • Anonymous May 01, 2009

GE JKP27 electric double oven error code F7 keeps coming up and the timer signal alarm starts beeping. I press the kitchen timer pad to turn off the alarm signal, and it stops beeping, but in about 30 seconds it starts again. Can't get it to stop.

F1 error and beeping. Don't bother getting GE out there. Cost me $90 to learn they don't make the clock. WOuld have been $500+ for the control panel anyway. Better off just buying a new one. Planned obsolescence I guess. I won't buy GE again.

I had and F7 error message on my GE JKP27 built-it oven and followed the posted so;ution of closing the breaker for 5 min the trying to restart. Twice when I did this and reset the clock first the F7 message returned. The third time I hit the bake and heated to oven to 350 then reset the clock. The oven is now working properly.

Erroe code f7

F7 means Stuck Button
- Function pad button stuck or
- Bad clock. Try to free stuck button or
- Replace Electronic Range Control (ERC).

Someone mention that intermittent F7 problems are usually caused by poor connections. So I pulled the ribbon connector off the control board and cleaned the copper connectors using a pink pencil eraser.

It's important that you don't skimp the disconnect test because there's a big difference in price between the ERC and touch pad. So, you want to be right on this one. Ok, after you do this test and determine which part you need to replace, come and get it here.

Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I'll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.

Thank you for using Fixya, and have a nice day.

My stove is beeping and is flashing F7. What does this mean, it is a built in oven.

Hello,

The F7 error code means that a function key on the touchpad is shorted or stuck, the F7 can be cleared by pushing the clear/off button,if the error code returns the touchpad would need to be replaced.

Oven beeps and display shows F7

Error F7 means that the keypad is shorted or stuck and to resolve this issue you'll have to replace the Electronic Range control (ERC).

The code can be caused by a faulty keypad or a stuck keypad which may mean relay is turned on. Determine if problem is with the Key Panel or Control by:
a.- Pushing CLEAR/OFF pad.
b.- Disconnecting Ribbon Cable from control and waiting at least 32 seconds to see if code come on again, the problem is in the Control. Replace control to solve it. If code does not come on, problem is with the Key Panel
.

Hope helps.

Keeps reading error f7

Usually this means a stuck key on the keypad. A tech can disconnect the keypad, then power up the oven. If no error code: problem with keypad, if still get error code: problem with electronic control.

I have the F7 code on my oven. what can I do.

I am pretty sure f7 means a stuck key pad. If you can open the console there is a tech sheet in the control panel area. It will tell you for sure the code and what it means. 877-262-1479 for parts if you come up with the correct answer I beleive you have to relplace the touchpad to fix if it is the stuck key pad
