The cd door is stuck - i cant open the door or close it, help?
There is a CD stuck in the reader/burner. When either the button is pushed or an attempt is made from the computer to eject the disk, the burner attempts to open the door (you can hear several "clicks" and see the door attempting to open), but it won't open more than a fraction of an inch. It then closes. The CD that is in the drive can be read, so it appears that is in proper alignment.
just got a new job, and the drive door wont open. the little hole doesnt do anything. im thinking that if i take the cd drive out and force it it will work, but obviously would prefer not to...just got a new job, and the drive door wont open. the little hole doesnt do anything. im thinking that if i take the cd drive out and force it it will work, but obviously would prefer not to...

Look close, many times there is a tiny hole the size of a needle by where u put the CD in.
Pop a needle in there and it will release the CD as it opens the door.
Turn van off. Open & close drivers door, wait for everything to power down. Turn van back on and push button to close CD/Nav opening. It will close. Having an issue with CD player also.
When you press the OPEN/CLOSE button on the CD-device, does the drawer open/close, i.e., is it getting electrical power to the motor that moves the tray?
You say "won't burn" -- will it READ an existing CD disk?
If so, then spend $40 to buy a replacement CD/DVD reader/writer.
Look for a WHITE coloured rectangle near the CPU that will fit that 'P4' cable from the power-supply.
Or, look at the "back' of the CD-device.
There should be two cables: one for "data" and one for "power" that connect to the CD-device.
The drive may have come loose in your pc and is stopping the door to open.Hold open the front flap and press the eject button. If it wont eject your disk straighten out a paperclip and holding the front flap open look at the front of your drive and you will see a small hole.Push the paperclip through the hole and it will release the catch and eject your disk, You may have to push hard .Hope this helps you. In Some Cases The Button May Be Stuck In Causeing It To Keep Pushing It Open In Other Cases The Arm May Just Be Stuck To Extending The Tray Out. I Recommend Seeking A Computer Technician If You Do Not Know Anything About Computer Componants
Use my computer and select the drive (eg drive E:). From pull down menu "File" select "eject". While the disk door attempts to open (hear slight movement of tray) massage the door with your fingers. This is done by smoothing out the across front door panel with your finger tips and pushing in and releasing pressure from door. Door should slide open partially and close again. Repeat. The eject button nearside the disc tray doesn't seem to work as well as selecting "File" and "Eject" from the menu. Something to do with the door cycle is less with the direct eject button.
gently push the cd door back in while pushing the door closed button , untill it closes if it still comes out then the cd laser mechanism is not lifting or something else has happened , then it will need to be tested to determine the exact cause
Is the door stuck shut? If so there should be on the front a little hole about the size of a pin. Unfold a paper clip insert it into the hole and push firmly this will open the door. If not you can remove it from the computer and unscrew the sides allowing you access to the insides.
