The cd door is stuck - i cant open the door or close it, help? There is a CD stuck in the reader/burner. When either the button is pushed or an attempt is made from the computer to eject the disk, the burner attempts to open the door (you can hear several "clicks" and see the door attempting to open), but it won't open more than a fraction of an inch. It then closes. The CD that is in the drive can be read, so it appears that is in proper alignment.

There is a small round hole in the front of the drive. Insert a paper clip in the hole and it will release the door.
Good luck!

6mmy cd-rom /dvd burner while burning a cd the cd got stuck and i had to jopen the computer to get it out, but when i put it back there is a cord came loose with p4 on it and i don't know where it goes,...

When you press the OPEN/CLOSE button on the CD-device, does the drawer open/close, i.e., is it getting electrical power to the motor that moves the tray?

You say "won't burn" -- will it READ an existing CD disk?
If so, then spend $40 to buy a replacement CD/DVD reader/writer.

Look for a WHITE coloured rectangle near the CPU that will fit that 'P4' cable from the power-supply.

Or, look at the "back' of the CD-device.
There should be two cables: one for "data" and one for "power" that connect to the CD-device.

My pioneer dvdrw dvr 107d door wont open when i press button /have cd stuck inside (worked 5 mins ago) can still view dvd content/ will driver update fix ? please help

The drive may have come loose in your pc and is stopping the door to open.Hold open the front flap and press the eject button. If it wont eject your disk straighten out a paperclip and holding the front flap open look at the front of your drive and you will see a small hole.Push the paperclip through the hole and it will release the catch and eject your disk, You may have to push hard .Hope this helps you.

CD/DVD drive stuck CLOSED and NO pin hole

Use my computer and select the drive (eg drive E:). From pull down menu "File" select "eject". While the disk door attempts to open (hear slight movement of tray) massage the door with your fingers. This is done by smoothing out the across front door panel with your finger tips and pushing in and releasing pressure from door. Door should slide open partially and close again. Repeat. The eject button nearside the disc tray doesn't seem to work as well as selecting "File" and "Eject" from the menu. Something to do with the door cycle is less with the direct eject button.

First, you'll need a paperclip. Unfold it so there is 1 to 2 inches that is straight.

Now, look closely at your drive door. There should be a very small pinhole either above or below it.

Insert the paperclip. There is a very small gear that when rotated, will manually open the drive door.

Retract and reinsert the paper clip as many times as it takes to eject the drive enough so you can hold onto it.
Pull Out the CD or DVD Drive.

Now slowly pull the drive out until it is fully retracted. Remove your stuck CD or DVD, and slowly push the drive bay back until the door is closed.

ASUS 52CD-writer's door is stuck....

Is the door stuck shut? If so there should be on the front a little hole about the size of a pin. Unfold a paper clip insert it into the hole and push firmly this will open the door. If not you can remove it from the computer and unscrew the sides allowing you access to the insides.

Thanks J
