On some cash machines there is a fuse that can burn out. Normally this fuse is located underneath where the cord go in.

Most cash machines when nothing happens means it is dead.

Te-8500f

It uses a special Vanadium Pentoxide Lithium battery. It is available from Casio register dealers. If you are changing it yourself, make sure you have the power TURNED ON in reg mode while changing it. It has to have power to keep the memory while the battery is being changed or you lose the program.

Casio Cash register TE-M80 printing partially faded receipts

Very common problem. I have one every week. Faulty thermal printer. This model used a very crappy little Seiko printer that fails commonly. Take it to a dealer and have the printer replaced. The printer is very cheap so the bill shouldn't be too much. Make sure you do not use this machine to print receipts for every sale or the printer won't even last a year. I have one customer who has had six printers and Casio still won't agree that the printer is rubbish.

Printing blank receipt every time cash drawer opens

I would try a complete reinstall to make sure the presets of the machine are correct.

TE-8500F exceptional error!

Wow. I haven't had that one before, and I thought I'd seen them all. Has this machine been unplugged for a while, or is it in use every day?

A till won't open the cash draw tried different

It usually means the drawer wiring has been shorted out at some stage and the internal fuse (most models have a drawer fuse on the main board) has blown. Occasionally the drive transistor may have blown open also. If you want to have a go at it yourself and save some money, C-tech has a service manual here:
http://the-checkout-tech.com/estore/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=334
Once you have it, I can direct you to the relevant parts/ diagrams etc for drawer drive.

Casio TE-8500F "Paper Jam Error"

Hi.
It won't have anything to do with the battery. There was a known issue with the early printers in this series. The first one I had did my head in. I battled it for hours and then found out that there was a design fault in the printers (not Casios fault as the printers are made by another Co.) It is easy to tell if you have the early version or the second version with modification. The two easiest ways to tell are:

If the model number is printed on a little silver badge or just painted accross the panel. Badge = second version

Have a close look at the receipt printer. If it has a small motor on the end of it (closest to the front of the machine) then it is the second (fixed) version.

Let me know. If you are not sure, then take a photo of the machine and send me a link to it.

Hi.
What can you see on the display. Is it just glowing, or are there any words or numbers on it?

Casio te-8500f

With the power switch off, hold down the RECEIPT FEED button and turn the register on.

Continue to hold the button until white text shows up on the screen.

Release the button and press the SUB-TOTAL button.

When the register asks "1. Flag Clear / 2. Something Else", select "1. Flag Clear" and press yes.

This is the Casio ECR equivalent of CTRL-ALT-DEL; it should fix the printer-cycling issue.

Cheers!
