Loud humming noise when dishwasher is filling with water
Hi. When the diswasher fills for the first time, there is no problem but after the first wash, each time the dishwasher fills with water, there is a loud hum. I can't tell if it's coming from inside the dishwasher, or the copper pipe feeding into it. The hum goes away if I turn on the water to a faucet on the same line, and returns if I turn the water off. The hum also stops when the dishwasher starts the washing cycle again. It only occurs when it is filling with water.
Could this be a problem with the water line?

Here is a tip that will help you to find out why water will not come into the dishwasher... Dishwasher Trouble No Water entering Dishwasher heatman101 ..
How long its been you used the dishwasher last time...?
If you are getting an humming noise then Sounds like the water circulator pump is stuck. The motor tries to turn it (humming noise), but cannot. So a breaker trips (self reset). Not claiming this is actually the problem, but this is what the motor turns.
GE Triton dishwasher loud noise after draining water. We started to hear a sustained and loud noise after water is drained. This noise is not heard during washing and draining times. What is wrong? Thanks a lot!
Hi, Have your freind check and see if the water supply line under the sink has been turned on. The hum you are hearing could be the inlet valve. Please let me know if this has been helpfull or if I can assist you further.
OK, i would test the motor to make sure that it is working properly. this is a two speed motor and, if the windings are bad or separating, it will not be able to switch speeds. if the motor checks out ok, this will confirm control failure. replace timer or control board in this case.
Sounds like you have something in the sump/motor. I could lead you through it on a chat session but too much just to type. Let me know if you would like me to do so.
sounds like a bad motor, you can get a complete replacement of the motor and sump assembly for about $150-175. one piece includes new motor and chopper assemblies, less then a hour to change.
hi there the low humming noise that you are getting sounds like the fill valve, this could be due to you perhaps not turning the water back on after fitting the new dishwasher or the fill hose being kinked when the dishwasher was put back ,hope this is of some help to you.
