My laptop model is Compaq Presario V3424AU with Windows Vista Home Basic preloaded. I've changed it to Windows XP3. My motherboard is AMD Turion 64. After changing the OS I can't hear sound from my laptop. How can I solve it??

RESTART YOUR COMPUTER, ON REBOOT, CLICK F10 WHEN YOUR CHANGE BOOT OPTIONS SCREEN COMES UP. YOU MUST PRESS F10 QUICKLY OR IT WILL LOAD WINDOWS AND YOU WILL HAVE TO RESTART AGAIN. ONCE YOU GET INTO THE BIOS SETUP UTILITY GO TO SYSTEM CONFIGURATION, SCROLL DOWN TO BOOT OPTIONS CLICK ENTER. GO DOWN TO INTERNAL NETWORK ADAPTER BOOT AND ENABLE IT. GO TO EXIT AND SAVE.
first instal the belarc advisor from this link this will be detect your motherboard drivers, board no. etc. etc... after install u see the "main circuit board" details. u give me tht details it will be better to find the suitable drivers.

I read this and don't believe you - yes the AMD dual core gets hot - yes AMD processor are HOT processors - is intel better - no there on par with AMD - the thu put rate is so close it doesn't matter - now vista basic is just that BASIC - if you want to bump it up - home premium 32 or 64 but ultimate 64 should get it going.
