I see that your Frigidaire dehumidifier is displaying an error code of "ES" and you would like to the meaning of that error code. The "ES" error code stands for evaporator thermistor error. Do you mean error code AS instead of A5? If so, error code AS commonly refers to a sensor issue. Because it is a smaller appliance, repairs are often more costly than the actual unit replacement. I think what you're actually seeing is an AS error. It's looks like A5 on the LED screen.
AS error means their is a sensor failure. So, before calling Frigidaire Tech Service
(800-444-4944), turn the Master On/Off Switch to OFF. Unplug the unit for 12 - 15 minutes.
This should give the unit ample time to reset itself. Plug the unit back in and turn the Master ON/Off Switch to ON. Now, set your controls as you normally do. If the unit starts up and runs as it should, the problem for now is solved. If it keeps re-occurring, contact Frigidaire Tech Service.

I have a 40 pint and a 50 pint that are very similar. The 40 pint has the e3 error. Experimenting with the 50 pint, I found if I disconnected a particular sensor I got the e3 error. That sensor is a little can with two black wires (smaller than a AAA battery but shaped like that). It is attached to the cooling coils so must be a temperature sensor. This is not the little circuit board sensor mounted in the middle of the radiator in a plastic box/clip thing.

I am now about to see that part to see if I can replace it.
