Do not mess around with this as it is a complete computer unit behind the facia and expensive and the official wiring diagram just shows a block with connections and no colours or numbers but then it is a haynes book so say no more ,it just says typical wiring diagram .Now what you can do is find a three or four click switch from a lod 60s model car then wire it directly into the motor under the passenger side dash where their is the resistor pack.Or pay the money for a new unit ,i also do this for the AC on and off as well ,YES I AM cowboy i admit i can and do bodge these things but wait till you find out the price ,the blower motor is 198+tax alone

Usually their is a tech sheet under the motor shroud it should have a wiring diagram. If not the power cord has three leads Black some models use Blue ( Hot ), White ( Neutral ), Green (Ground ). The Black will have the on/off reset switch or on/off circuit breaker to Motor Control Board spade labeled black or blue. The white lead may go straight to the motor control board spade labeled white. Just follow the wire color s and match them. Good Luck!

Black to black. from fan
Blue to Black and white. from fan
White to white. from fan

The input is from ceiling supply

the black wire from fan is for motor.
the black and white is for the light.

TRY CHECKING THE BOARD ON THIS MACHINE ESPECIALLY THE MOTOR CONNECTION. WHAT YOU WILL AHVE TO DO IS PUT THE DIAL IN TO THE OFF POSITION ( ONLY AS GUIDE ) THEN DISMATLE THE BOARD FROM THE FRONT FACIA. HAVE A GOOD LOOK AT THE MOTOR PLUG CONNECTION SECTION OF THE BOARD CHECK TO SEE IF THERE ARE ANY TRACKS THAT HAVE BLOWN. I RECONDTION WMA ALL DAY EVERYDAY AND I HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM BEFORE ONCE AND AM THINKING YEH THAT WAS THE PROBLEM. OR IT COULD BE THE TACO ON THE END OF THE MOTOR BUT THIS IS VERY RARE FOR HOTPOINT WMA UNLIKE THE HOOVER MACHINES.
