Panasonic DMR-EH65 DVD Recorder/HDD Recorder Logo
Anonymous Posted on Mar 15, 2009

Hello, I have a Panasonic DMR-EH65 DVD with HDD, when pressing any button on the remote control the display says DVD3, machine will not operate, took it apart to check for any bad connections, reassembled and now there is no display at all or operation, power and voltages and still running through the circuits though, anyone have any clues on this one? Any help would be highly appreciated! Thanks and best regards! Michael

I have the same problem. When pressing any button in the RC, the player showed DVD1. Any solution?

You could try Changing the Remote Control code for your DVD recorder. If you have more than one Panasonic device, there's an option to give each device its own Remote Control code. The Default is DVD1. So for FixMick, it sounds like someone may have changed the Remote Control code on your machine to DVD3. For Dador, someone may have changed the Code to DVD1. So you'll need to change the Code on either the device or the Remote to make them match up (see page 19 of the DMR-EH65 Users Manual ... you can download it from the Panasonic website)

Sorry FixMick. I don't know why your display isn't working.

Actually, you'll need to change the Code in the Remote Control to match the Code in the DVD recorder because at the moment the Remote has no effect on the DVD recorder. Page 19 of the DMREH65 User's Manual says:

7 While pressing [ENTER], press and

hold the numbered button ([1], [2] or

[3]) for more than 2 seconds.

    8 Press [ENTER].

So for FixMick: You should Press ENTER and 3 for more than 2 seconds. Then you'll be able to use the Remote. If you like, you can change the DVD Recorder's Code back to DVD 1 using the Function button options on the Remote and then change the Code in the Remote back to DVD1 by Pressing ENTER and 1.

For Dador, you only need to change the Code in your Remote to DVD 1... Sounds like you must have gotten a Second Hand Replacement remote that was set up with a Code other than DVD1.

I called the local Panasonic service center here. The reception forwarded my call to the technical team. After I told them of my problem, the only solution is below:
1. Ensure that my player DMR-EH65 is switched on.
2. Press and HOLD button 1 and ENTER simulatneously for 2 seconds.
3. That's it. My DVD recorder works normally.

During my recent transfer to a new flat i lost my remote control for my panasonic dvd recorder type DMR EH67. I bought a universal remote control but i did not have the full functions of my lost one. In my...

You can try changing the command mode of the (genuine Panasonic) remote itself, press and hold [ ENTER/OK ] and the number [ 3 ] button together for 5 - 10 seconds, then release. Then try the remote with the unit. If it still shows DVD 3 on its display, no matter which button is pressed, reset the main unit to factory default as outlined in the user manual (assuming this model recorder has a tuner, there would be channel buttons on the front - try pressing and holding [ CH/UP ] and [ CH/DOWN ] together - for 5 - 10 seconds, until 'SETUP' appears, then release). This may or may not restore your DVD unit to the default (DVD 1) command mode. (Don't forget to reset the remote back to DVD 1 if you do reset the main unit - press and hold [ ENTER/OK ] + the number [ 1 ] button together as above).

Your new remote may be set to DVD 1 by default while your unit is DVD 3 = different remote command modes.

Panasonic DMR-EZ47V DVD Recorder / VCR Combo RC1 errior message how do I fix this problem

http://www2.panasonic.com/consumer-electronics/support/Video/DVD-Recorders-Players/DVD-Recorders/model.DMR-EZ47VK
http://www.retrevo.com/support/Panasonic-DMR-EZ47-DVD-Players-manual/id/2811ag420/t/2/
To get into Service Mode, first put the machine in STANDBY mode, then press the buttons ChUp OPEN/CLOSE and REC all at the same time on the front panel (Ch Up is hidden inside the AV3 input flap). Eventually the front panel display will show "SERV" (after its "HELLO" messages). Anyway, pressing [6] then [5] on the Remote Control tells me that I have an Error Code of "04" which is a Digital PCB or Communication Error (whereas an Error code of "02" means a "Defect of RAM drive"). (To exit from Service Mode, press [0] then [0] which should get you back to "SERV" and then POWER-OFF the machine).

Hopefully, your manual will display your error codes.

Perhaps the remote control is not set to the same control code as your DMR-ES40V. Codes may be set to 1, 2, or 3 on the remote by holding down the enter button and one of those number buttons for several seconds at the same time. The factory default is code 1. Try 1 first. If that doesn't work try 2. If that doesn't work try 3. If one of those codes doesn't work you may have a bad remote or a bad sensor on your machine. On DMR-ES35V models the sensor is located just to the right of center behind the black window

Panasonic DMR-EX77 - Error code DVD3

Pan use a version of Linux on the recorder. If you change the hard drive there is a format command in setup to format a new hard drive. Put a DVD in and try selecting and playing both DVD and HHD via the front panel buttons. Sometimes you can get error codes on a unit when the batteries in the remote are low. Try changing them Sometimes the remotes are faulty and not communicating properly. A fix in some cases is to press the number button corresponding to the number shown on the display together with the enter or OK button for at least 2 seconds. Good luck

Dear FixYa
Thank you for your support. I have solved the problem on my DVD Recorder by reading other peoples solutions to this problem. My DVD display was showing DVD3 and all buttons would not work. So on the handset I pressed the ENTER/OK button and no. 3 button together for a few seconds, this cleared DVD3. I was so pleased that this worked. croneruk, 6/10/2008
