Lonny,
I have a 71-B2 model myself and if you can take a picture of the spring, I can try to take mine apart and see if I can figure out where your spring goes and get back with you.
whats the exact model number of your vacuum unit and exactly which switch fell apart, the switch on Handel or its any other switch.-------
Where exactly this switch is located, so the exact fitting / installing procedure can be provided.-------
Keep updated, thanks.Helpmech.
This requires removal of the transmission assembly and replacement of the pedal assembly - it cannot be repaired. The handle and upper motor shell must be remove to access the transmission assemby. There are two screws in front, and two under the plastic switch plate.

Hello, I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. Not knowing what actually fell apart is to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or to call the Filter Queen factory cust serv or tech serv @ the phone # listed below, you can also request a new owner’s manual so that you might see what actual fell apart and you might be able to fix it yourself. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions. http://www.filterqueen.com/ Customer Service1-800-344-1840 [email protected] Thanks, Don the Vac Man Go Ahead.
