What is A5 on our frididare dehumidifier?

Hello Friend, this is Z. I am happy to assist you!

If you are receiving an error code AS on your Frigidaire dehumidifier, it typically means that your dehumidifier is experiencing a sensor failure. Because it is a smaller appliance, repairs are often more costly than the actual appliance replacement. Is your appliance still in warranty? If so, you might want to reach out directly to the manufacturer to determine the coverage on your dehumidifier and the procedures to any potential remedy in that regard. Best of luck!

Humidity sensor not working correctly. Replace it?

The need for replacing it should be based on several things:

1. How did you determine it was the Humidity Sensor? Several other things, that are easily
solvable without having to replace parts, can mimic a faulty sensor.

2. How old is the unit? If it's 5 years old or older, it would probably be better to replace the unit,
rather than repair it.

3. Have you maintained the unit as instructed in the Owner's Manual? Regular cleaning and proper
storage when not in use, etc.

If, after answering all the above questions, you decide you want to make a DIY repair and want to order the part(s), Appliance Factory Warehouse is about the best supplier of parts out there. You can search for what you need at http://www.appliancefactoryparts.com/search/index.php

I hope this helps you to make the right decision. If I can be of further help, please contact me.

Fan will not run

It's probably a common problem with these models: the fan motor causing a thermal cut off fuse to blow. I have the same problem. See this link on another site: http://forum.doityourself.com/humidifiers-dehumidifiers/177549-kenmore-dehumidifier-fan-stopped.html

Unit has stopped collecting water. Fan & Heater working ok. Been through problem page.None of those. Can you help please?

When it is below freezing outside, humidity drops inside.

Does it need to be running? A digital humidity sensor from Radio Shack is cheap and may tell you the humidity is OK - 50% or less.

E3 error

I got mine fixed tonight! It was not that easy but can be done.
After my last post, I called the customer service of DeLonghi. The agent can only refer me to the authorized repair shops but she does not know what “E3” meant. There is no shop in NJ where I live, and the closest one is in CT! One of the two shops there knows right away the E3 is the fault of a condenser sensor. He mailed me the part ($25) and I took the covers off (be very careful to record where the screws are from ---- they are not all the same size/shape, and also there are two small tabs on the top holding two cover pieces together, so don’t force it to open or you will break it). There is only one part looks like the same as the replacement part I newly obtained and it has a metal clip attached on the copper coils. Carefully replace the sensor on the coil as you find previously and plug the other end to the control board. It sounds lengthy but once you open the cover it will all become clear to you. Be patient and this can be done. Very glad to see/hear it is working now again!

p.s., the store first mailed me the wrong part (on the plug-in end it has two ridges rather than one) so I have to call them again to explain and they mailed me a different one with a single ridge. Apparently there are two types (old and new model) for this model.

My dehumidifier is dead

WIZ huh? NAGEV says:

check the plug!??? - DUH! I also love ...

5) Remove and test the overflow cutoff switch.

6) Remove the humidistat and check it. Replace it if necessary.

7) If the unit still doesn't work, call an appliance repair person!!!

I guess he's only helping the repair person! Who would pay for this kind of advise? The layperson needs details not big words!
