The only thing I can think of is the the igniter has some faulty insulation and the pot is completing the circuit, or the pot is pressing something. They do have an igniter service kit.
http://www.reliableparts.com/ - DACOR refuses to fix the fundamental quality issues with the knobs. I've replaced a dozen in the past few years. I will never buy Dacor again because of the customer support refusing to acknowledge the issue.
The Dacor knobs have a history of breaking easily. For that reason I recommend that you clean them in place using cotton swabs, tooth brush, etc. WHatever cleaning agent you use, put it on and let it sit for 5 minutes to loosen up any grime.
They do pull off but they often break and they are pricey to replace.
Yes by a licensed person so as not to break any local laws or Kill You,
LPg typically delivers at a higher psi than natural gas, and the propane content requires more combustion air than the methane butane mix of natural gas,
methane CH4 needs 2 oxygen (O2) to make CO2 +2 H20
Propane C4H10 needs 7.5 (02) 4 CO2 5 H2O
the nozzle injecting the LPg has small diameter, The Gas certified plumber can remove the nozzle(s) and replace them with larger diameter Natural gas ones for a small price, most manufacturers make both, its a simple job
Cant stress - Gas Certified plumber/tradesman - strongly enough, one explosion will ruin your whole day
ON DACOR AS WELL AS THERMADOR YOU HAVE TO TAKE ALL THE BURNER CAPS OFF AND INTHE CENTER OF EACH BURNER CELL YOU WILL SEE A RELEASE NUT THEIR ARE 3 TO 4 DIFFERENT TYPES BUT THE MOST COMMON REQUIRES 13/16 SOCKET OR A 3N1 PUTTY KNIFE TO UNSCREW THEM. BE VERY VERY CAREFUL IF THE NUTS DO NOT COME LOOSE FREELY DO NOT FORCE THEM!!! USE SOME LIQUID WRENCH AND LET IT SOAK FOR A WHILE THEN ATTEPMT AGAIN. OTHER WISE YOU WILL MANGLE YOUR GAS TUBE AND ORFICECES AND HAVE 7OR 8 PARTS TO ORDER INSTEAD OF ONE
