It pauses with error code E20 and doesn't seem to drain or spin, could it be the filter is cloged?

The E20 error code is a class code that indicates a drain problem in the washer. This is consistent with the drain and spin problem that you are observing. To determine the exact error code, follow these steps:

Wake the machine by pressing any button

Wait 5 seconds

Press and hold the START and PAUSE/CANCEL buttons simultaneously

The exact error code (E21, E23 or E24) will be displayed.

If E23 or E24 are displayed, you will normally need to replace the control board due to a failed drain pump relay.

If the E21 code is displayed, I recommend that you follow these troubleshooting tips:

Check the washer drain to see if it is clogged.

Check the washer drain hose for a clog or restriction.

Make sure that the washer drain system complies with the installation instructions for the washer.

Try to gravity drain the washer by placing the drain hose in a bucket on the floor. If the washer will gravity drain, you may be able to

unplug the washer

and remove the bottom front service panel using the procedure in the image below. Arrange towels to catch residual water that may be in the washer and check the pump filter and drain trap for a clog or debris. If you find no clog or debris, then you may need to replace the drain pump. NOTE: You should not attempt this procedure unless you are completely confident in your technical ability to safely access and check the pump. Do not disassemble the drain pump hose if the washer is full of water.

My Frigidaire Affinity front loading washing machine is reading an E20 error code when in the spin cycle. It stops the cycle and I have to push cancel and put it in a spin only cycle to get it to spin,...

Hi - Im not familiar with your particular washer but will try & help you as best as I could, am a Miele - F&Paykel - Electrolux specialist..

Based on your observations I would first have a look at the drain pump for any restrictions, a lot of the front loaders have an acess panel where you could open up to remove coins, pins and others that find its way to the pump. Failing this the side panels are removeable to gain .. pumps etc.

E20 could be the fact the sensors recognize that water is still in the machine prior to going into the extract/spin cycle.

I hope this may help you in some way..

JUST MAKE SURE YOU DISCONNECT THE POWER FROM WALL BEFORE YOU HAVE A LOOK.....

Good luck

E20 message want spin

E20 is not an exact error code. It's indicating a possible pump out problem. Here is a few possible causes of an E20 error code:

1. Restriction in the drain pump

2. Failed pump

3. Water not pumping out fast enough (crimped drain hose)

4. Too many suds ( too much detergent or wrong kind)

5. Pressure switch (not communicating with control board)

6. Loose wire at pressure switch

7. Loose wire at pump or control board

8. Failed control board

E20 ERROR

It doesn't spin because it has to drain first. E20 means not draining. You'll very likely have something caught in your drain pump. If you take the two screw off at the front, very bottom of you washer you'll be able to pull down the small panel to reveal the drain pump at the right corner. if you empty all the water from your machine you can take off the spring clamp attaching the thick rubber hose from your tub to your drain pump. ( you may want to have some old towels ready ) With this off you can feel around for what's blocking the drain pump's impeller. You may want to take the screws out that secure the drain pump to the base and the other spring clamp that attaches the drain hose to the drain pump. Good luck!

Error code E20. This is not listed on the error code chart. What do I do to fix the problem.

E20 means the drain hose is plugged or kinked or the household drains are plugged. YOur washer will not drain and spin until this is fixed.

turn off the washer/unplug it/remove the drain hose and check for a clog. If it is there, clean it out. If not - check your sinks and toilets for slow running drains. The garbage disposal is a good place to start as well. plug the sink, fill it with hot water, then pull the plug and start the disposal. That will help clean the disposal and also show you if you have a drainage problem there. Plunge the toilets, etc.

Good luck to you!

Frigidaire front load washer (LTF600ES1) Error E20

Your washer is not draining properly. You need to check if the drain hose is kinked and also whether the household drain is running smoothly.
