Check the cables which connect the modem to the phone-jack. Make sure they're all connected and not loose. If they're fine the only other thing you can do is call your ISP (Internet Service Provider) to find out why your Internet isn't working. Most likely there was some form of a mistake and your Internet was disabled. A call to your ISP's technical support department will typically clear up the issue(s).

My orange broadband is really slow, is there a problem with them today?

Sometimes the mobile broadband Sim cars are data Sim. and when not at a very good reception can be difficult to get good browsing speed. try this tip. if it is mobile broadband then try taking the data Sim card from the modem and fix in an ordinary orange Sim pay as you go calling Sim card. it helps gain better reception and can work very fast.
let me know if this solution works for you.

How to free downlod hotspot

Hotspots are not free, they are the result of a business/home/retaurant/pub renting BroadBand and as an incentive there is a small amount of BroadBand spare that becomes useable to anyone who is a subscriber.
Orange charge £5 per month as do many other mobile providers. Laptops can use it if they subscribe to BroadBand at home or have a WiFi dongle and pay for it.
Hope that clarifies it for you.

Broaband link

Ok, thank you for clarifying.

It seems like the settings on the 1707 have been reset.
On this modem, while connected, type "homeportal.2wire.net" without the quotes.
  • click on "Broadband Link"
  • click on "Advanced Settings"
*note:you may have to enter your password. if you never set one and it asks you for one, click on "I still can’t remember the password". Follow the instructions.
  • On the "advanced Settings" page, make sure your settings are correct. The user name is the same you use to check your AT&T Yahoo Email. and also the password.
  • If you have forgotten your settings, you can call AT&T to retreive your settings at 1-877-722-3755. Have your AT&T Bill and the debit/credit card (used to activate your service) on hand.
They should be able to give you your info.
If not, comment back.

Replaced my old 2wire 1800HG with a new one and can't connect it

hi!
first of all, let's try to make the broadband link light turn green. open any browser, go the modem's UI by typing gateway.2wire.net or homeportal/setup on the address bar, follow the onscreen instructions on running the system setup wizard. it should make the broadband link green now. for wireless connection, click on the airport icon, and select on the SSID or network name in the drop down menu. if ssid is not on the drop down menu, click on other. type the SSID in the network name field and wireless security is none. (SSID is the last 3 nos. of the SN)
