Cavs DVD-202g Karaokee Player displays "No Disk"

My Cavs DVD-202g Karaokee Player displays "No Disk" when a disk is inserted. I replaced the whole drive unit and it still does the same thing. I tried reseating all the wire connections and it didn't help. I have tried several different disks and it does the same to every one. What else can I try?

Ok this is a little bit harder then the last trouble, I would just for grins check the laser power just in case that is the problem , but the same applies. DVD players have hardcoded software that allows it to play various DVD formats. Sometimes this software becomes corrupted and must be reloaded (flashed). The manufacture should have the flashable software for download since most of the time this solves this type of problem. Also check the laser alignment.

Dvd player wont read disk

If when you insert the disk you hear a whirring and clicking noise, CD spins, and does not read, then that is a problem with the DVD lens.

The DVD lens try to focus on the DVD track, by moving lens pickup and spinning the disk, but cannot read the tracks because the lens is dirty or defective.

Try first cleaning the lens with a DVD cleaner disk. And also if you can see the lens from the outside try blowing some canned air on it.

If this still does not help, then the lens pickup may be faulty, in this case you often replace the whole DVD drive unit inside the DVD player.

No Disc

This maybe due to a disk misread, clean youe lens and retry. If this does not help you may have a problem where the system is unaware of the disks it shouldbe able to paly this is a hard memory issue. Try cleaning the lens first.

Cd's are ok but no dvd's...

Had similar problem. Found the disk was not rotating. Adjusted the torque on the hold down screws of the drive unit allowed the disk to spin. Still had some motor noise, but DVD would load.
