Hello,

If I understand you correctly, you are not able to access the bios.

When you first start the computer you will press repeatedly either the "delete" or "F2" key to access bios. If you are having another issue please let me know

if you are getting this message it only means that you need to update your bios version, go to manufacturer site and get latest bios update for your motherboard

removing the BIOS (small watch battery on the motherboard) for about 45 seconds will reset the password..

boot the pc from cold, note the long identifier number - it contains a 2 character identifier for the board manufacturer. For more info go to the Award bios website, it has a better explanation of this. From there you will be able to either download new BIOS from there, or the website of the vendor/manufacturer.

BIOS FLASH UTILITY FOR EliteGroup VIA P6VAA

goto factory defaults then restart, then pull all hardware plugs and power off for 20 min then restart with nothing but power and mother b then plug hard drive restart (note) do each 1 by its self) then cd rom, floppy, etc. you must pull all memory also install memry before you restart for the cd-rom or it wont remember Huh!

Need drivers

To get drivers for Via motherboard it is better to use the Via Arena website download here. You need to select operative system to download right drivers. For example here you get USB drivers for XP


Here is the download for bios upgrade for your Via C691 chipset
Read all instructions if you do not want to blast your motherboard, updating bios is a delicate operation and can damage your motherboard.
