Cell phone won't turn on

I have a lg vx 5200. i got it about a 1 and 1/2 ago. Just the other day my phone was all mmost dead and i was just going to look at a text message and then my phone shut off. Then i tried to start it up and i would light up and just show on its screen verizon wireless. That is all you see when i turn it on. I tried to charge the battery and it still didn't work. Tried a brand new battery and that didn't work either. I put my phone in the freezer for about 5 hours and still no change. So i am willing to try all most any thing just to get my phone working again. i dont care if i lose all my numbers and info. I was wondering if it was possible that their is cell phone virus through text. thank you and any tips will be great. I have the same problem i had charged it last night it fully charged but when i waked up this morning it turned on but its battery was empty i put it on the charge and now it doesnt turn on completly help i had impotant things in here please help HELP!!!!!

Hello,

It sounds like possible water damage. On most phones you can remove the back cover and maybe the battery. If it is water damage you will see a red dot on the inside of the phone. I hope this is helpful, Let me know.

"Take the battery out and check the end of it for water damage-there should be a white sticker with pink/purple marks. Also check the bottom of the phone for the same kind of sticker. If that sticker is even slightly pink/red its water damaged, the more pink/red the worse the damage. And water damage often comes simply from your hand perspiring while holding the phone. Thats the problem 99.9% of the time."

Don't take it to any normal technician. Go to Authorized service of LG and get it done. It is not any software issue, i think it is hardware problem.

Cell phone won't turn on

In my experience, I have worked with NUMEROUS devices that regardless of the circumstance WILL NOT boot up. I am surprised you have taken such a journey to sort out or diagnose your device's issue.

Since you have already diagnosed the device with another battery(new), attempted multiple charges, and even placed the handset in a freezer for 5 hours (which is not recommended), I know the root cause is your J600 itself. Your old battery may be shorted, but if phone is not booting up with a brand-new charged battery then that is a good indication what the problem is.

At this point it's important to search for your carrier's nearest service/and repair location for further diagnosis and tech work. Good luck.

LG VX 5200 - Permanent Blue screen Display Problem

I had the same problem and just fixed it, literally five minutes ago. You'll have to be a little brave and sure of yourself because it involves taking the phone apart. Around the inside screen are four silver cushion/spongy pieces. Remove these with a very small flathead screwdriver and set aside. Now you will need a very small Phillips head screwdriver to remove the four screws that are underneath these cushions. Once they are removed very carefully use the flathead screwdriver to "crack" open the phone housing. Once it is opened you will see a gold/tan colored ribbon coming from the lower half of the phone. All you have to do is press down on this ribbon to make sure that it is connected to where it is supposed to connect. It's like a puzzle piece that has to fit perfectly in order for the screen to work properly. You can check to see if it's working by turning the phone on before replacing the housing. If it is not recheck the "puzzle piece." I hope this helps.

Cell phone won't turn on

From what I have determined from tinkering with it, the problem is the Display connections. It appears that the connection sockets are simply weak and do bit "snap" a they should. My answer thus far is pretty easy. Open the phone, place the upper display side flat on a piece of cloth or something else thin but not course in order to prevent scuff marks. Now firmly hit/slap down on the back side of the face plate to insure it and the pieces inside it are in place and secure. works well for me, just ask the phone :-)
