Hi I have a 2001 Monte Carlo SS with 144,miles I was a mile away going over speed bumps the battery light came on car died I put it in N car sound like it was flooded put it in P same thing turned it

might be worth starting with a wiggle test if you don't have access to any diagnostics. engine running and as suggested, careful of moving parts just go round the engine bay giving the loom/wiring a wiggle to see if you can re-create the fault. Jon

I got a mtx jackhammer 2400 watt amp. when i hooked it all up and turned it on i am just getting 12 volt on the speaker output wires and no sound. it is just compressing the speakers and that is it. any...

verify your amps input. hook up a portable cd player with a headphone to rca "y" adapter to the amp and try that, to make sure it isnt an issue with the reciever/cd deck oir the input circuit. if the amp works correctly with the protable cd player/ walkman.mp3 player whatever, instead of the car deck, then something is wrong with your decks audio output. if it does not work with a secondary input device then perhaps you have the power hooked wrong. there should be both a red and yellow power lead from the amp, the red should be connected directly to the battery, and the yellow to the "acc on" (any circuit that turns on only when the car or stereo is turned on, sometimes connected directly to the stereo). both can be connected directly to the battery, but the yellow would need a switch, in that case, to turn the amp off when not in use.

2001 monte carlo ss. has heat but heat gauge does not work and cooling fans do not cycle just keep running

Hi, check the connection on your temperature sensor. If the connection is good, replace the sensor. The cost is about $11 at autozone. The sensor is located at the back of the engine, near the transmission. See pictures below. Use some water pump sealant on the threads when installing the new sensor. Please let me know if you have any questions, and thanks for using FixYa.

How hard would it be to put a different cd player in my 2003 Monte Carlo SS ??

It is very simple actually. What you will need is a face plate, an aftermarket wire harness and the skills to connect this wire harness to the new CD player harness, they are usually color coded so very simple. TO remove you stock CD player you will need to pry off the plastic surround then there are 4, 7mm bolts that will need to be taken out and the stock CD player will pull out. Unclip the wire harness and antenna

Speakers in my vet dont seem to work

Yes, if your car speakers are ran through that amplifier that red wire (power wire) needs to be connected to the battery. I would make sure that there is a brand new, or clean terminal to connect to the battery. I usually use a ring terminal on the end of the power wire to connect to the positive battery post bolt. If you do not have a ring terminal on the end, you do not need one, but I do it for the fact that it is a cleaner installation and a certanty that it will not fall off the positive post. If you have any questions feel free to email me at stevieb1282@yahoo.com put subject vet amp no sound.

I dont know how to connect it .it is an mrp-m850 i tryed to connect it but it wont turn on

well u run a power wire atleast 4 guage from the positive terminal on the battery, then 4 guage to a chasis ground source, then a remote wire to the rear of your cd player that will kick the amp on when the cd player turns on... then for subwoofer wiring go to www.the12volt.com for sub wiring options... you need either single voice coil 4 ohm subs or 2 ohm dual voice coil subs to get the 2 ohm load to the amp so u can get the rated power out of it...

The woofer wont turn off

The only wires that should be going to the subs are the Speaker wire, The power, goes to the amp, Blue the remote wire should only go to the remote spot on the amp wich is usually labeled rem. and the ground all goes to the amp.
