We have a firm that has a new business within the company that needs it's own voicemail for it's own number. The firm's line rolls over to new company's line when the line is busy, which is fine. However, we need a new voicemail for the new number so those calls don't come to the firm, or it's voicemail. Can I set that up?

Ok, do you know how to get into system programming?
If you do:
-> first dial FEATURE 985 this will give you the DN(Extn) for the voicemail
-> get into programming
-> TERMINALS&SETS enter and put in the extn that is giving you issues
-> then under CAPABILITIES look for FWD NO ANSWER and put in the DN of the voicemail you saw with the Feature 985
-> hit next for the number of rings you want it to ring before going to voicemail
-> hit next and you can now RLS to back out of programming.
Voila, that set will now goto voicemail.
Actually, even as a technician, you will never know the origonal password.
But you can get in to reset the existing password back to 0 0 0 0.
There are a couple of steps; depending on your voicemail system, voicemail's are done differently, but try this first.
got to a M7310 set
-> dial FEATURE 9 8 3
-> password: 1 0 2 0 0 0 0
-> you should now see ADMIN and under that MBOX, AA, OTHR
press MBOX
-> press CHNG
-> dial the extension of the phones that you need changed
-> you should now see PASSWORD and under it RESET, press RESET (This resets the mailbox back to 4- zero's)
-> hit the * to back up and repeat fopr all the other extensions.
-> hit RLS after all is done and voila... you have now changed those passwords to those mailboxes.
Now when the new users dial F981 at their desks, and dial 0 0 0 0 the first prompt they get is pleasde change password.

Feature 983 gives cess to System Administration; This Feature will ask for a Log:
Feature 981 Opens A Mailbox your mailbox # should consist of three digits. First what is the name of your mailbox system?
SOURCE: Line not in service
Is says that because it's not in service :-)
To check the extenson number of the phone you're calling, go to that phone and press FEATURE *0 and the intercom button. Read the display. It should show you the extension number of the phone.
If it has names only, you're probably going to have to start with 21 22 or 101 102 etc and see what rings.
