Check rating plate on device, or rating that shows in product manual.
Also if the dimmer does not need neutral wire to power the device, then it will be rated for incandescent-only, and not be rated for CFL
This dimmer is for incandescent light only up to 600 watts, and will not work as expected for CLF bulbs etc

WHEN ON DIM THE LIGHT FLICKERS

That is because the dimmer is designed for incondescent lights and you are using compact fluorescent. To solve the flickering problem add at least one regular bulb to the system. If there is only one bulb then replace with a regular bulb if you are using a dimmer.

Lutron ngrx-pb 2000w, problem lights flicker when you try to dim ,works fine on full load.

This could be a number of issues:
- Are the loads dimmable loads rated for that device (Incandescent, Magnetic Low-voltage)
- Is it being controlled by a proper fluorescent control
- Did this work before and now its acting goofy?

There's a number of things to investigate to diagnose this one. I strongly recommend you call their tech support line (its available 24/7) at 1-800-523-9466.

Hello - I have just installed two Lutron eco-dimmers in my kitchen. They work expect that the on/off switch is reversed and yet the dimmer toggler is working correctly: slid up it's on and slide down and it...

Double check the model number - is it a TG-600PH or a TG-603PH?

If its a TG-603PH, and this is part of a 3-way circuit (there's another light switch that turns the lights those same lights on & off), then this is normal. If you flick the other light switch, you'll then see that the dimmer works like it should. This has always been the case with 3-way switches, up doesn't necessarily mean "on" and vice-versa.

If its a TG-603PH, and this is part of a single-pole circuit (this is the only light switch for those lights), then the product is miswired, and upside-down. To fix the miswire, look at the screws on the back of the unit (ignore the green grounding screw for the time being), two of those screws are made of the same material (same color), and only one of them should have an electrical wire going to it. Take that wire out and put it on the other screw of the same color. That fixes the miswire. Then when you re-install the device, flip it upside-down from what it was before.

If its DEFINATELY a single-pole, TG-600PH, then call their tech support center at 1-800-523-9466 - because that makes absolutely no sense.

Good luck!

Lights won't dim

Here's a link to an article that explains the wiring. If you've followed the guidelines, then maybe you have a faulty dimmer.

I just wired 2 3way switches with 3 lights in between them. Tried 2 different dimmer switches on the circuit but neither would dim the lights nor operate the lights as they should. The lights perform...

In general practice, you can only install ONE 3-way dimmer switch to control the lights. If you use two regular 3-way dimmer switches, the circuit won't work.

However, newer technology allows for double 3-way dimming from different locations. See this article about how to do this:

We installed the new fourescent bulbs in our can lighting...some work great..other flicker for no apparent reason...does it have to do with the settings?

You can not dim compact fluorescent lamps. The ballast for the fluorescent is built into the bottom of the lamp. IF the manufacture says that it is dimmable, then you would need a special interface (Lutorn FDBI) to make it work properly. It may work for a short while with out it, but will burn out the ballast or dimmer.
