If you clear it before you diagnose & repair the reason
it came on,then your loose all the data you need to
start the diagnostic part

If you think you will fix it by having the light go out ,your wrong

I would suggest a code reader verse disconnecting the battery,
so you don't risk loosing this you need working,like the radio,
windows etc.

Each vehicle is different you need to know you vehicles stratagies

restart your computer repeatedly tapping the f8 key to enter safe mode while the screen is black once in safe mode where the only things working will be your keyboard and mouse allowing you to attempt to repair your computer

Try a soft reset by holding the power button (when powered off) for at least 20 seconds till it restarts.

If nothing then try a master reset - clearing all user data - reverting back to factory state. From power off press the right bottom corner of the screen and then push the power on button. Wait till the question appears to clear all user data.

Hold the power button for more than 20 seconds till it restarts - this is a soft reset. Then try again.

If that doesn't help, do a master reset which clears all user data back to the factory state. From powered down, turn the Garmin on while holding the right bottom corner of the screen for at least 20 seconds. A question should appear if all user data should be cleared. Then try again.

When it works again I would suggest to update the software in there till the latest version available on Garmin.com

Error E000004 is a fuser related code and is most parts just caused by a paper jam in the fuser area. Before you begin to try and clear the internal flag you must make sure there is no paper or no obstruction stuck in the fuser area. With the power off rotate the fuser model handel to see if any aper or obstruction exsists. Clear it carefully if there is. At any time NEVER USE a knife or sharp object to clear a jam. Common sense I know, but few practice it. Once you clear the paper jam you can see if clearing the flag is the magic you need. If the next stages fail contract a local Canon trained tech to troubleshoot the real source of the error. Clear the error flag do the following steps DO NOT touch any thing else DON'T adjust any numbers. Turn machine on. When main screen apprears press Additional Functions button (*) let go. Press 2 and 8 together let go. Press Additional Funtions button (*) again. Screen should say Service Mode Level 1. Press these screen buttons in the following order. Copier, Functions, Clear, ERR then press OK in lower right corner. Machine will apprear as if nothing has happened but it has. Shut machine off at side. Turn on. Flag is cleared. If code reappears get professional help. This is a fuser code therefore we don't want a fire or anything else happening. Doing this clear you have 30 seconds before macine shuts off. It takes timing. Good Luck.

Highlight "flag clear" and press YES button. If it still does not work, you have a flat or (usually) faulty memory battery and it will need to be RAM cleared then re-programmed.

Do a flag clear t first, by switching off at mains, hold down on button on front of till by the bulb symbol, switch on keeping finger on front on button, release button, till should reset, wait a minute while resets,you should get flag clear highlighted, press yes ..this may work.
