Smeg DUSC36X tripping the main RCD

I bought my oven in June 2012 and it was OK for 6 months and then it started tripping the main RCD (to begin with intermittently) I contacted SMEG engineer and he replaced fan unit and elements. It was OK for three weeks and it has now started again, tripping every 2 - 10 minutes when cooker is on (top or bottom oven). Can anyone help with this or should I call SMEG engineer again

SOURCE: cooker not heating up

removed broken element and replaced it. You have to access the fixing screws from the back of the cooker to remove it

the fan element would have blown. it is not uncommon for an element to trip an rcd when it blows. you are on the right track, if you replace the element all your problems should go away

The clock not working
We have a SMEG TRA 90P9 which has a dedicated circuit with a RCD swich. It will randomly trip with nothing on except the clock. Flick the RCD back on and it might stay on for a day or two. Begining to suspect the cooker. Any coments would be appreciated..

Error code 6 quick flashes then 6 longer flashes
I am assuming your rcd is the main one in the house .
If it is tripping there is an earth fault in one of the major components of the machine.
It is unlikely to be a controller or sensor as they are generaly isolated from the the mains.
For the controller to cause an earth fault it would have to be soaked and you would notice water comming out of the machine in that case.

Neff U1410 main oven trips the main RCD. Occurs
I have a u1421 with the same problem! I notice the fan doesnt run too well, sometimes it doesnt run at all, needs a prod to get it running. I suspect with no fan, that the element gets far too hot, and then starts to leak to earth, tripping the RCD. I'm gonna try buying a new fan motor - you should ckeck if your fan is running full speed OK.
