Ejecting mechanism stuck?

Hi, I have an AlE, it ejected my last tape then wouldn't go back down, so it is stuck with the tape unit up and in eject tape out mode (no error on screen just empty tape logo). The 'push' door works but there is no noise to indicate it is going to retract, then after five secs the door ejects outwards again and the rest hasn't moved.Any ideas how to get it back down?

SOURCE: Ejection Door won't Close

I had the same problem with my 360X.
I took the camera apart and found two screws loose that hold the tape carrier to the rest of the chassis. The unfortunate thing is that I had to pretty much disassemble the entire camera to get to those two screws. It's working again. I'm assuming those two loose screws were the problem.

SOURCE: tape will not eject

If you remove the power while the basket is halfway up, you should be able to remove the door. Then look to see if the reels are turning when you try to elect the tape. The error code you are getting indicates the reels are not turning for some reason. You can ssist the reels turning as the tape is ejected if you have a small plastic pick or a toothpick into the reels to assist the reels turning and tehn you may be able to remove the tape.

SOURCE: Sony DCR-PC100 does not eject (well not really!)

Don't think this is a complete solution, but it might help. Try checking out the buttons on the camera. I've got one of those same cameras but my problem is the ribbon cable in the cassette carrier broke and I'm on the hunt for a new one, and a service manual. By the way, how about emailing a copy of the service manual to me at [email protected]. Thanks. I might be able to help further with a copy of that.

Your camera appears slightly older than mine so I will do my best for you. Have you tried ejecting the tape with the power off? If I have problems I slide the eject button when the camera is off but plugged in and the tape can be ejected. I suspect the tape mechanism is in trouble. When a tape stuck in mine I had to literally force the cover open. But this is a last resort.

Give my suggestion a try and apologies if you have already tried that...

A cassette has jammed inside my vcr machine. It will not move forward or backward Can yoy please help

Hello,

Since the tape won't come out then it means you will have to manually remove the stuck tape. This involves you disassembling the unit in order to help/assist the player get the stuck tape out.

Turn of the unit and remove from the wall, get a Philip screw driver, use it to remove all the screws from the unit and take it apart.

Open the cover and you will see the stuck tape and what's hooking or preventing it from coming out/ejecting.

Now plug the unit, and turn it on. Press the eject button, as the tape tries to come out, support it with your hand so that it can come out.

Or if it happen that the cassette tape has coiled inside the unit, carefully free the coiled tape and the press the eject button.

Lastly, the moment you disassemble the player, you would see what's preventing it from coming out, then you can free whatsoever that is making it stuck press the eject button and the tape should come out.

Make sure the unit is turned off each time you want to remove what's making the cassette stuck.

I hope understand the above explanations.

Good luck.

Funai tv/vcr combo has a tape stuck

It shuts off due to an error or mechanical problem, this is a safety feature. Sounds like the gears are worn/stripped and needs to be serviced/replaced. The tape can be remove by opening the unit and manually ejecting it if its important to you.

TV keeps turning off after 30 seconds

This is usually a sign that a function has not completed or a switch has stuck in an incorrect position. eject can only happen if the sensor (either optical or mechanical senses that a tape is present. The swich might be stuck or the sensor might be blocked or bad. You can open up the unit and try to determine if the sensors are not being blocked by any of the mechanical parts of the unit. You will need the service docs to show you where the components are located. I hope this helps. Shuttle83
