Hi, I have an AlE, it ejected my last tape then wouldn't go back down, so it is stuck with the tape unit up and in eject tape out mode (no error on screen just empty tape logo). The 'push' door works but there is no noise to indicate it is going to retract, then after five secs the door ejects outwards again and the rest hasn't moved.Any ideas how to get it back down?

I had the same problem with my 360X.
I took the camera apart and
found two screws loose that hold the tape carrier to the rest of the
chassis. The unfortunate thing is that I had to pretty much disassemble
the entire camera to get to those two screws. It's working again. I'm
assuming those two loose screws were the problem.

If you remove the power while the basket is halfway up, you should be able to remove the door. Then look to see if the reels are turning when you try to elect the tape. The error code you are getting indicates the reels are not turning for some reason. You can ssist the reels turning as the tape is ejected if you have a small plastic pick or a toothpick into the reels to assist the reels turning and tehn you may be able to remove the tape.

Don't think this is a complete solution, but it might help. Try checking out the buttons on the camera. I've got one of those same cameras but my problem is the ribbon cable in the cassette carrier broke and I'm on the hunt for a new one, and a service manual. By the way, how about emailing a copy of the service manual to me at [email protected]. Thanks. I might be able to help further with a copy of that.

Follow this procedure to troubleshoot if the cassette compartment will not open or the tape is stuck and will not eject.
IMPORTANT: If your camcorder model has a RESET button, first try pressing this button. If there is no RESET button, or pressing the button does not resolve the issue, continue with the troubleshooting steps below.
NOTE: If the issue is still unresolved after completing all of the troubleshooting steps, service may be required .
