Microsoft Xbox 360 Controller Logo
Anonymous Posted on Mar 14, 2009

When I click my left thumbstick on my Xbox 360 controller, it won't crouch in games. It clicks fine but the control doesn't respond. Does anyone know why this is happening?

I have the exact same problem, clicks fine, but won't crouch in games unless I press very hard.  Any solutions?

The wire is out of place, open the controller on the side where the crack runs along the side and make sure the little metal piece that goes in the thumbstick is properly connected

Bad controller. You can buy rebuild kits for them if you are comfortable with rebuilding one.

Try it in multiple games, if it don't work, your going to have to get a new controller, unless out of nowhere itll start working again.

Game loads okay but controller does not work. controller is brand new. lights work on controller but can not ply any games

If the controller is brand new, you need to Sync it with your XBox 360.

Turn on your 360 using the button on the console.
Turn on the controller by holding the X button in the middle.

With both on, click the SYNC button on the xbox 360.
Then click the SYNC button on the Controller.

The green ring around both should flash a few times, then the upper left quadrant should light up on both meaning it's Sync'd.

Enjoy.

Cant use right joystick in gameplay

There is a sensitivity setting in the Xbox menu. This should fix the problem.

Both Fallout 3 and Oblivion have similar problems. The sensitivity is kind of off for these games and you will probably have to adjust the sensitivity as I had to. :-)
