Can't use menu function on remote control for pioneer krl-32v TV

I bought a new Pioneer 32'' TV last weekend but after a few days of everything being ok was finding that whilst many buttons on the remote worked fine (eg choosing input line & volume controls) I didn’t get any response when I pressed the TV/DTV/radio/EPG buttons and most importantly from the menu button. I was able to get into the menu via the buttons on top of the TV but in trying to sort the remote problem I inadvertently locked them by switching the ''button control lock'' on. So now I can't get into the menu at all to set my system up for my home cinema. Can anyone suggest a solution? (I should mention that for the first few days at least all the buttons seemed to work on the remote).

Ok try this first, remove the batteries from the remote and yes make sure you replace them with brand new ones, but before you do that unplug the tv from it's power source and let it sit for a couple minutes at least 3, then plug it back in , put the batteries back in the remote and see if you have everything back, if not I would return everything since you said you had just purchased this set, or contact the makers web site and see if they will provide a new remote since taking the tv back is a real pain.

Not all universal remotes control all functions of a particular device. A different universal remote might work as the code libraries differ from one to another.

No original remote for the following TV pioneer model pdp-506pg need to get into the main menu and set up my dish and program the new remote so need the code for the tv.

Everything you need to assist you in your task can be found at www.Dishnetwork.com . Go to programming features. You should see an option for satilite(dish). You also will need to go to "programmable codes". Jot down these codes. There will be at the least several. Next go to programming instructions. Follow these easy instructions and suffice to say...you'll be watching DISH NETWORK within minutes! Have a GREAT day!

Pioneer 428xd tv remote control code wanted

if you have gone through all of the codes in the manual for pioneer, and they dont work, then your last option with that remote is to use the "code search" feature.

otherwise you're going to have to find a remote that will work for that unit, because its not exactly new :(

Remote control dosnt work on this tv

I have the same plasma Pioneer tv. I also tried a replacement remote and no fix. I replaced the infrared receiver module (~$4 from Radio Shack) on the TV, yes it involved taking the tv apart. Voila, now I have two working remotes.

Pioneer SD-582HD5 - screen went black, no sound, Poor remote feed

The blue tube might be leaking coolant in the high voltage area, that is the cause of the POP. This repair might not be a DIY because of the lethal high voltage surrounding the CRTs tubes.
The slow response from the remote could be because the coolant has affected the main board where the IR signal are going to the remote sensor.
Let me know if you require further assistance.

No sound at all

Sometimes you need to make sure the REMOTE line is hooked up, which is the blue-wire with the white stripe.  If it isn't hooked up, this can cause the unit to function, but you won't get any sound.
