Hi

Check to see if what kind of soundcard you are using. If it is a onboard soundcard in your motherboard, you need to check the manual for your motherboard producer.

Many motherboards uses the Realtek soundcard, the drivers for this soundcard can be found here.

Good luck, and please rate this solution if you find it helpful

best regards,

Karl

Do you have a modem that is no longer in use?

Some LAN cards have more than one device. It may be a bridge or something. I think that is noted on your question. Look for the manufactures driver.

"Don't fix it, if it ain't broken." If you can live with a non-impact warning.

Device manager is showing PCI Deice missing

Hi you should try the motherboard website for drivers. Usually drivers that come with Windows XP are generic.
Try going in to Device manager, Uninstall the driver and reinstalling the driver that you downloaded from motherboard vendor site.

No audio device

Since your PCI driver is missing, and it does have something to do with it, no PCI device is read by the OS, so the problem will probably be solved by the supply of the correct PCI driver.
Without knowing your exact board, I can only give you this general advice.

Missing ethernet controller+Pci device+ sm bus controller

PCI Modem is your dial up modem, Ethernet Controller is your Network Card, and SM Bus Controller is your Motherboard Chipset drivers. There missing because your Operating System has Either Corrupt Drivers or they were never installed in the first place. Sounds like a fresh installation was done and nobody bothered to look in the device manager to see if any hardware drivers were missing.

Sound device

Hi,

If your sound device is removable, like PCI Card, try to remove the PCI Card and clean the connector with dry brush, then place it firmly back again.

If your sound device built-in on your motherboard, please re-install the Device driver provided by the Motherbard Driver CD.
