JVC Everio GZ-MG21 Camcorder

I cannot import the .MOD or .MOI video files from my camcorder into my Mac IDVD for editing. Is their software or shareware that will enable this?

If you copy the file from the camera and just rename it as ".mpeg" it should be fine

Can't transfer videos from JVC Everio camcorder onto my MAC

Share: How to import .tod files from JVC Everio HDD Camcorder to iMovie?

Requirements: iMovie (Part of the iLife 08 package)

Step 1: Connect the Everio to the Mac (Via USB)
Make sure you are powering the Everio from the mains before connecting your JVC Everio Camcorder.

Step 2: Playback on PC
Select “Playback on PC” on the Everio, once connected you will see the Everio HDD symbol appear on the desktop. The video files on the Everio are stored in the SD Folder/PRG***/MOV***.MOD.

Step 3: Open iMovie
Once you open iMovie, you will see that it recognizes the Everio straight away and will attempt to import your video.

You are now ready to use iMovie to edit your video files.

If need change .tod files to common video formats like mov, mp4, m4v, mpg, mpeg, dv, flv, avi, wmv, 3gp, mkv, mp3, aac, wma, m4a, etc. Mod Tod Video Converter for Mac is a good choice. The program can also convert mod tod to ipod, mod tod to iphone, tod to apple tv, tod to blackberry and more devices!

I have a JVC GZ MG145AA and i dont know how to transfer files to my computer

Their should be a USB mini plug in the very front of the camcorder.
Just left of the Microphone. Plug in a cable and the other end to you computer. Turn on the JVC If a prompt pops up on you Computer. Choose to open the folder. Or go to my computer, and find the drive that should be created. Just open the drive and find the files you want. Select them and drag them to you desktop.

A trick I had to do to get the *.moi movies to play on windows was change the file extent-ion to *.mpg..

Problems with .MOD and .MOI files

Actually, converting the .mod file to .avi or .mpg is not sufficient. The corresponding .moi file contains date/time stamp info. as well as some resolution/aspect ratio info. There is a free utility at the following link:
http://zyvid.com/smf/index.php?acti...ic=280.0;id=153
that does a really good job at converting the .mod/.mov files into .mpg files properly.
