    The answer is to hold down 7 and 8 while powering up the phone

    What is the Manufacturer of your Phone? Also beneath the phone there should be a Model Number of the Phone. Could you find these please? I will have a solution to offer after I have that information.

    Also, what system are you hooking it up to? Toshiba?

    Do you know who you purchased the phone system from? Since
    additional programming materials are provided to the companies that Sell / Service the phone systems, you may be able to download them from the provider's website.

    If you do not know, there may be more information as to whom to contact on the phone system itself.

How to change viocemail for the 2110

IP Phones do not provide voicemail, that is a function of the PBX it is connected to, either a premise IP PBX or a cloud-based (hosted) PBX. If you are using an Asterisk-based PBX system, the usual way to access the voicemail system is to dial 98 from the phone, however you will need to know the voicemail password.

I use polycom Sound Point IP 550 phone. For an incoming or outgoing call after some duration the other end of the caller is not able to listen to me. However I can listen to them, once understanding that...

This sounds like an RTP stream issue. While SIP runs on port 5060 by default, the actual audio is run on much higher ports, 10000 and up. If your pbx system is not on a public address and you are forwarding traffic to your pbx via a router, check the RTP port range in your pbx and make sure you are forwarding those ports correctly. By putting the call on hold, you stop sending out audio traffic restart sending audio when you pick the call back up. By forwarding the entire RTP range to your pbx, this should fix your issue.

Message light keeps flashing, but no message- Polycom 550

This is usually a problem with the phone's configuration. Is this phone getting it's configuration from a network server or pbx? If so, find the configuration file for your specific extension and find this location. This example is for a phone whose extension is 2704

msg.mwi.2.subscribe=""
msg.mwi.2.callBackMode="registration" msg.mwi.2.callBack="" msg.mwi.3.subscribe="" msg.mwi.3.callBackMode="registration" msg.mwi.3.callBack="" msg.mwi.4.subscribe="" msg.mwi.4.callBackMode="registration" msg.mwi.4.callBack="" msg.mwi.5.subscribe="" msg.mwi.5.callBackMode="registration" msg.mwi.5.callBack="" msg.mwi.6.subscribe="" msg.mwi.6.callBackMode="registration" msg.mwi.6.callBack=""/>

If you are not using a network-based configuration, the phone's settings can be changed via the phone's internal web server. Open a web browser window and enter the phones' IP address, i.e. http://192.168.1.109. The default user is 'Polycom' and the pass '456'. Go to the links at the top for each line you are using and scroll to the bottom, you will see the voicemail settings there. Use the above info to fill in the correct info, save the settings and the phone will reboot.

The phone is saying that option 128 is missing im not sure what this means

This means that the phone is expecting to receive a tftp server address from the DHCP server to download it's configuration files, but the DHCP server is not providing this information. Please check with your Systems Administrator to make sure your IP PBX or another server is housing the configuration files and the tftp program or daemon is running, then have them add the tftp server setting to the DHCP scope for your network.

This extention is saying No Dhcp

Depends on your network setting, check if your network has Fixed IP or DHCP, if you have DHCP check the Setup menu when he phone starts up, go to network settings and make sure its set for DHCP, if you have fixed IP addresses then you set it for manual ip and insert an IP address manually

remember it must be in the same group Example 192.168.1.120 (phone) 255,255,255 (sub Mask)
and PBX IP 192.168.1.150

I have Netgear N router and having problems trying to establish phone connection with my Mitel 5312 ip phone. I have fowarded all the ports, disabled router firewall powercycle everthing a thousand times...

The phone is intended to be connected to a Mitel PBX telephone system. If you're using the phone at home, you must set the phone in Teleworker mode and use the IP address of the teleworker server. This will allow your phone to tunnel into the phone system.

OR the phone must be set up in SIP mode. Press and hold the 6 key while booting the phone. You will also need to set it up and tell it where the SIP server is located (IP addresses).

If you don't have this information, you should contact your vendor or system admin for further assistance.

If you are trying to use the phone without the above servers, I have bad news - it won't work.

How can I install a GXP-2000 IP phone, remote (from another location)? I all ready have another phone connected to the PBX box (local) but I need to have another phone remote

The exact method really depends on your ip-pbx and whether or not you will have a persistent VPN between the remote site and the main site.

If you have the VPN then the most you would have to do different would likely be to manually set the ip settings for the phone.

If not, then you will likely be dealing with a pretty complex implementation that will require in depth work with the PBX, firewall, DNS, and possibly security certificates.

Some IP-PBX units do decent job of shielding you from the gory details but without more info to go on, i.e. details on the PBX type and whether or not you will be using a VPN, this is about as far as we can go at the moment.

If you need more, please post a follow up with additional information and we'll be glad to continue.
