Do all refrigerators have the problem of food freezing in certain spots?

I'm in the market for a new refrigerator. I have a Kenmore now, bottom freezer, about 10 years old. I've always had a problem of food freezing in the top part. Had it serviced quite a few times always the same-basically, that's how it is. Is this true? Are there any brands that don't. Is it the way they're made now? I was interested in the Amana ABB 1921DE bottom freezeer refrigerator. Would this one not have that problem? Please advise and thank you.

Its most likley the refrigerator you have now (kenmore) is a Amana. They were one of the few that made bottom freezers. Sears makes nothing they contract and have the kenmore name put on it. From what I see there are certain issues with all freezer bottom refrigerators. The most common is the top is not cold enough at times. some units like the LG have a frost problem in the freezer and thats due to air getting in there some way. With refrigerators they all have some kind of small issue that may hapen to them. and thats not saying there bad. Most is due to them being made more efficent and having more and more electromics and features that customers want. so its not what brand is better then the next its what you want in a fridge and how much your willing to pay. I feel the thing that makes one better over the other is how the manufacturer backs there product. Hope it helped you out

Kenmore Elite 106-74202402 Freezes food ice solid in the fridge

Hi

Most times this is a bad cold control, but there are other things to check for. Make sure the condenser fan is working and the coils are not covered with dust. A separated heat exchanger ( small capillary tubing soldered to the large suction line ) can separate from one another and make the fridge run too long. - tape tubing back together. A poor working evaporator fan motor could also make the fridge run too long and freeze - replace the fan motor. An inefficient compressor or refrigeration system could make the fridge run too long and freeze - have a service tech check this out. A misaligned control settings, make sure the air damper and cold control have not been bumped and are out of normal settings. Stuck open air diffusers or air dampers are becoming more and more common for allowing too much air to be blown into the fresh food section and freezing things. On all frost free fridge's the freezer temp air is blown into the fresh food section, if you have "easy" to freeze items ( eggs, veggies in water, etc ) in front of or under where the freezer temp air comes out, they could freeze - store them in a different spot. Doors not closing properly making the fridge run too long is something else to check for.

Please do rate the solution as FixYa and revert for further assistance.

Thanks

Vegtables freezing in refrigerator drawer

This could be due to frozen air passages...defrost the unit, food packed too close to the passages, possibly low on gas.  First, clean out your condenser radiator at the bottom of the unit...rear.  It is probably blocked.
