My computer speakers just went silent in the middle of a song

When I plug in headphones, I have sound, so it's not a computer problem... The speakers were not moved or jarred, so nothing was unplugged... I tried turning them off & unplugging everything, then replugging, to no avail. NO sound whatsoever. No crack, pop, or hiss, just dead silence.

No, not when I plug them into the speakers, when I plug them into the computer. Just ruling out a computer problem...

Do the speakers have power? Check the fuse.

Where are you plugging your headphones?
Where are the speakers connected? Is it the same jack as the headphones?

Have you tried plugging the speakers into the headphone jack vs the soundcard?

Sound cuts out

Hi Sirxon,
My headphones are not RCA, but are wireless like yours. I get this symptom when my batteries get weak. Using a volt meter, you can test the batteries voltage. They need to read at least 1.2 volts each. Check the connection from the base to Headphones. My headphones do not have a physical connection, and if I place them in the base backwards, my headphones do not charge. It may be time to get you some new rechargeable batts. I hope this helps you.

My computer doesn't play any sound

When you plugged the headphones in, the computer automatically switched the default device to the headphones instead of the laptop speakers. Go to the control panel > Sound options. Look in the playback tab or window and highlight the speakers icon. Look for the button that says make this the default device and click on apply, click ok and exit out of the control panel.

Left side don't play/ right side is perfect

You sound like you have a wire connection problem but to find out try using a spare pair of speakers or try headphones. Try to rule out any wierd system problem, but I don't think that is your problem. Since this problem went away and then came back reduces the likely hood that it is a power issue so I would go with wiring issues or connection problems. While you are playing music. Move the cable, bend it, and reinsert it a few times. Give the cable a work out. If it comes back while this is happening, you have an open connection. You will need to replace the speaker wiring.
