Persistent occurance of "Sirius Seek List"

You will hear a beep, then the words Sirius Seek List appears on the screen and starts listing songs randomly for usually less than a minute. It stops on its own, and within 2-3 minutes, does it all over again. It cannot be turned off from the menu. The only way to turn it off is to clear memory. However, when you do that, you disengage your ability to listen to your 30 preset songs it took months to finally load.

Called Sirius today, said a software problem, they can't fix. Said only way to solve problem is clear memory. Wow!, here I go again. Amazing how that feature is on the Starmate, yet they say it's a software glitch. How's that? That feature cannot exist on the radio unless it was written into the program. So how can it be a glitch? They don't even know how to turn it off. DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW TO DISABLE SIRIUS SEEK LIST?

Echo through speakers

Unintended reverberation, or "echoing," from your computer speakers is a common problem that can arise from improper setup of your audio properties.

Resetting all of your audio information to default will correct this problem, allowing you another chance to strike a good balance to satisfy your audio tastes.

This can be accomplished by accessing the Sounds menu in your operating system.

Select the "Start" menu from the bottom-left corner of your screen, and click on "Control Panel." Find the "hardware and Sound" button and click to select.

Click on the sound icon and select the third tab labeled "Sounds" in the window that appears. A list of sounds will appear, beginning with "Asterisk." Click on a sound to highlight and select test.

Listen to hear if the echoing problem occurs.

If it does, you need to configure your speakers or check to see if it is a third-party issue.

Select the first tab labeled "Playback" from the same window. Right-click on the "Speakers" icon. Click on "Configure Speakers" from the top of the list.

Choose a setup from the list that appears and select test to test different sound configurations for the speakers.

Listen to decipher if one configuration has less echo than another. If so, choose the speaker configuration without the echo to fix the problem.

However, if none of the configurations remove the echo, you need to attempt to troubleshoot the issue from "Safe Mode."

Turn on your computer if it is off or restart your computer. Continuously press the "F8" key until the "Advance Boot Options" screen appears.

Use your arrow keys to navigate the screen, pressing down until you have highlighted the "Safe Mode" option. Hit "Enter" to select. Wait for the drivers to load.

Log on from the "Administrator" account. Test the sounds again, and if the echo does not occur, the cause is a third-party driver or service.

hope this helps

I am trying to burn a cd on my Acer Aspire 5536-5255 using WMP and it isn't working?

In Windows Media Player, click Library and then, in the List pane, click <List Name> List, and then click Burn List, as shown in the following screen shot.
  1. If you need to clear the list before beginning, click Burn List, and then click Clear List.
  2. Drag a folder from the Contents pane or songs from the Details pane to the List pane to create a list of songs to burn.
  3. In the burn list, drag songs up or down to arrange them in the order you want them to appear on the CD.
  4. Insert a blank CD-R or CD-RW disc in the CD drive.
  5. In the List pane, verify that the songs you have selected to burn will all fit on the disc. If necessary, remove songs from the list by right-clicking a song and then clicking Remove from List, as shown in the following screen shot.

It is possible that a song will not fit even if the total time exactly matches the CD length, because the Player inserts two seconds between songs when burning. Click the Start Burn arrow and verify that Audio CD is selected, as shown in the following screen shot.
lick Start Burn.As the CD is burned, you can check its progress in the burn list. Burning a CD will take some time.Notes It is recommended that you do not try to perform any other actions while burning a CD. For example, playback may be affected if you try to play a music CD while burning a CD.

You cannot burn additional files to a CD after burning is completed. If you are using a CD-RW, you can erase the entire CD before using the Player to burn files to the CD again.

S-seek and back light

There's a "Memo" button on your PNP. If you pressed it when it was on Sirus/Sirius then it would beep a couple times a minute most likely. Try this: Press and hold the Memo button, and it will bring up a list of songs that you stored for song seek. Then you can go through them one by one and decide if you want to delete it. Use the round knob to scroll through the list, and press the knob to select it. It will give you an option to Delete it and you can go from there.
