I'm assuming the external keyboard is unplugged when you do this? If so the kb buffer is bad or the BIOS has been set to an external kb only. To check the BIOS press F2 when the machine boots. Go into BIOS and look for an external keyboard setting.

Enter key doesnt work

well i understand it can be a bothersome issue to not be able to press enter but we have to identify the reason behind it , it could be the circuit is burnt so probably you will have to change the keyboard but as first try and see if the Enter key is functioning in the DOS screen , not in an operating system . press F10 to go to bios screen and therefore go to exit and press Enter , if it doesn't work just press cntl + alt + del and it will restart but with this it will show that the circuit is burnt and you have to replace the keyboard.

Key board 4000 not working, mouse work, replaced the batteries

Try using CTRL, ALT, DELETE. It sounds like you may have locked your
keyboard by accident. Once you hit CTRL, ALT, DELETE, it will bring up the
log in page. Simply enter your password, if any, and you should be good to
go.

I installed updates and it will not reboot

Try logging in to safe more for which you need to follow the steps mentioned below,

Step 1: Shut down your PC completely.
Step 2: Turn on the Power button.
Step 3: As soon as you turn it on start hitting the F8 key on your keyboard until you get to a black screen called "Windows Advanced option". (If you don't get to that that screen but you end up reaching the blue screen than that means you have delayed in hitting the F8 key. start again from step 1.)
Step 4: As soon as you reach "Windows Advanced option" use your down arrow keys to choose an option called "Last know good configuratiSafe Mode with networking".
Step 5: Select that and HIT ENTER.

Screen might Look unusual but don't worry as that is normal in safe mode :)

Run System restore as mentioned below

1: Click Start and then Choose all programs.
2: Look for Accessories and the System Tools and System Restore.
3: Choose the Option "Restore my compter to an earlier date". Click Next
4: Choose one of the date that is in BOLD and click next.
5: Your system will reboot and will try to restore.

Hope this helps!!! Gud Luck

I cannot boot up laptop it says control alt delete then nothing

You need to try booting in Safe Mode with Networking and if that fails then Last known good configuration should work. Below are the steps to perform Last known good configuration howver Safe mode with networking is also an option under "windows Advanced option". Now if you succeed logging in to Safe mode with networking then try performing system restore by going to Start....All Programs....System Tools and System restore.

Follow the steps below,

Step 1: Shut down your PC completely.
Step 2: Turn on the Power button.
Step 3: As soon as you turn it on start hitting the F8 key on your keyboard until you get to a black screen called "Windows Advanced option". (If you don't get to that that screen but you end up reaching the blue screen than that means you have delayed in hitting the F8 key. start again from step 1.)
Step 4: As soon as you reach "Windows Advanced option" use your down arrow keys to choose an option called "Last know good configuration".
Step 5: Select that and HIT ENTER.
Step 6: your PC will boot to the windows.

When I restart the computer, the keyboard and mouse do not work. The mouse won't move the cursor and hit cntl alt del on keybourd and nothing happens. I have tries three mouses (one wireless) and two...

Use wired mouse and keyboard (not wireless) and change the USB port you are using to another one.

Connect them directly to the computer, do not use USB hubs.

If no joy reboot in safe mode: turn on your computer and immediately press F8 repeatedly until you get the Advanced Boot screen. Select "SAFE MODE" and press ENTER. After that, restart in normal mode.

Thank you

My laptop keep freezing when i log into my account, the Ctl+Alt+Dlt still work but i can't click anywhere to make it work.

If there is no way to interact with the PC once booted, try booting in safe mode. (as soon as you turn it on, before the wondiws logo appears, you will have to keep pressing F8 until a menu appears) Select Safe Mode.
In safe mode you might want to run an anti-virus scan, or restore the computer to previous settings.
If neither of that helps, I'm afraid you'll have to reinstall Windows.

How do i insert a bracket on my acer laptop i tried holding down my shift key than hitting the bracket i would like but it will not work is there a different key that you are suppose to use

have you tried pressing all of the shift keys on your keyboard and pressing the bracket key? are you sure that the key is working properly? try using an external keyboard if you have and try if you can put brackets. if you can, then there has got to be a problem with your keyboard. You can do a shortcut with the bracket.

for ( " { " )
hold alt and press 123

for ( " } " )
hold alt and press 125

pm me if it works on your system.
