Fires up ok but will only run for a second or two. Put the boat to bed last fall, treated the fuel, fogged each cylinder with fogging oil. Went to start this spring with this result. Tested fuel pressure at test port and have 20 psi which meets spec. Plugs are new, gapped correctly, they are getting wet with fuel. Crank position indicator is correctly gapped. No check engine light showing, all fuses are good. Fuel pump runs for the spec 10 seconds and turns off unless cranked. Fuel filters replaced, gas fresh. So far no change. Any ideas?

You have a problem in the fuel pump relay circuit for sure then. I'm betting the relay, but it could be that dropping resistor.

it starts from cold because the auto choke is on ,allowing a richer mixture ,try removing the sender unit in the tank and seeing if the connection from the pump to the outlet connection is ok or leaking causing a loss of fuel pressure

Yes...check the pump, filter and output. Also check the ballast resistor for the pump. Stop pouring fuel into the cylinder...instead, use carb cleaner and spray into throttle body (excess fuel in one cyl will contaminate your engine oil). If it runs normally after you get it started likely the pump is good (unless you have problems at high rpm's under power) Regulator is likely good as well...default is to more fuel not less.

Hey Jim why havent you replaced the Ign module? It sounds typical of it. Good job checking fuel pressure BTW most dont.
