Pool Pump won't turn on

AOSmith Pump USQ1102 - won't start, no sound, nothing...was wondering before I called a service, is there a reset button or something I could try myself?

Thanks so much, I will try it this afternnoon! But I did find out that the pump is separate from the motor and someone told me it might be the motor and would cost hundreds of dolllars. So I am hoping this advice is the problem. Thanks again

Hi, this could be one of a couple of things, firstly check the pump is plugged in securly to the main panel, secondly, check the fuse inside the panel hasn't blown, third, there is a capacitor inside the connection box of the pump (where the mains lead goes in), this sometimes fails causing the pump to stop working, this should be replaced like for like. Good luck!!

USQ1102 pump gets power, buzzes, trips breaker

The motor-start capacitor is bad. This is a very common problem. It can be easily and cheaply fixed by replacing the capacitor. Replacements are usually less than $10.

See http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZEIv5ClLqXg for a step=by=step guide.

When you have the capacitor in hand, check the model# which is printed on it. Alternatively, you can Google the motor brand & model to find the parts list which will identify the right one. Then Google the part number, to find a seller.

Do Magnum Force Pumps have a reset switch ?

No jacuzzi magnums do not have a reset button. First make sure breaker to pool is off, then remove rear motor cover, and take a look. Popping noise sounds like an arked wire. Could be a bad terminal or just aloose power wire. JACUZZI PUMPS ARE GOOD QUALITY, AND USSUALLY RUN FOR MANY YEARS. Pump can be removed for repaair, or motor replacemant by a qualified, and republe pool shop, for rebuilding Ussually rebuilding is about half the cost of new. Kirk
