Can't get new DVD player to play

I hooked up DVD player to TV (double checked to make sure correct).
I am supposed to see a blank blue screen, but I don't. DVD Player is running after I put a DVD in because the numbers are changing on the display, but nothing on my TV screen.

  • You need to supply more info to get a correct answer.

How is it hooked up to the TV? Composite video ( yellow jack ) or Component Video ( green blue and red jacks)?

You may need to set the DVD player to Interlaced Scan if you used the yellow jack or Progressive Scan if you used green red and blue.

If you used Component ( green blue and red) check your tv specs to see what resolutions it supports on it's Component Input.

When you change the TV to what ever input you used, do you see anything?

On some sets there is a button on your remote marked "TV/VIDEO" or some such text. With your tv and player hooked up and working, pushing that button will switch from TV to video and back.

On other sets, if you keep changing channels, you will eventually come to one that turns off the video broadcast and plays the DV.

Good Luck

My dvd player is hooked up to t.v. but only plays movies in black/white

How is the DVD player connected to the TV? If you are using component video, check that the cables are connected correctly.

If you switch the order on two of the cables, the black and white result is common. So double-check that the red, blue and green connections (RPbPy) have been connected to both devices in the same order. Next try a different set of component video cables, in case one of the wires is damaged.

If possible, try a different type of connection to rule out a damaged input/output. Connect the TV to a different DVD player or the DVD player to another TV, if possible, to rule out similar damage.

Please add a comment with the connection type for additional support. I hope this helps.

I can't get to work the set up function on my remote control

You must look into the owners manuals of both units and check the correct set-up procedures.Check to see if the remotes for both units must be used for playing dvds.Check to see in you using the correct output to input cable connections. If you are using a third unit in the hook-up look in the owners manual for the correct connections and the correct setting for the use of it with the other two units. The only way to be sure you have you hook -up correct is by useing the owners manuals, because the have all the details for these set-ups. Hope this helps you with your problem.

Dvd playing blue picture

if it is hooked up with componant, thats the red blue green cables for video, and red white for audio, then you probabily eather dont have the red pluged all the way in, or you have the red audio, and red video---reversed, make sure to check them on the dvd player, and on the tv, if there correct, try using the composit input, that is the yellow red and white

Screen is green when trying to play a DVD

Hi,
I think DVD player is hooked with TV via component video input.

Check component video connections and make sure each color wire connect in same correspondence color in both units, TV and DVD Player.

Red to red, green to green and blue to blue.
