LG KC550 Unable to add music to MP3. LGPC suite only offers: contacts, message, organiser & internet options. No media option or anything else. No memory card in phone. have removed & re-installed software. no difference.

It seems that althought the phone will read photo files even if they are not in a folder it won't read mp3 files unless they are. Once music files are added to the memory card in a folder, the phone will read them. Still don't have all the options available on LG PC suite though but thanks for the advice.

I speant Hours swearing at my phone because it would not read my music files, Tried the card on many different phones which would take Micro SD and all other phones read the music Just not the LG KC550.

I found that getting a Micro SD dongle reader, Insterting your 2GB Micro sd card in that and then putting your music files into the "sounds" folder works.

Instructions.

1. Insert Micro SD card into Card reader.
2. Insert card Reader to Computer Via USB.
3. Go to my computer and Open the USB Card reader.
4. Select the Music files from your pc Via Copy files
5. Go to open Tab (Where you can see your Micro Sd card) Open the sounds folder and Paste.

If you are finding it hard to get the 5 folders of images, Documents, Sounds, others and Videos on your Micro SD card. Format the card by going My computer, Right click the Card reader (with you Micro sd card inserted) and click format. Takes a few seconds. Insert the card into the phone, the phone will auto put the folders on the card. Then go to step 1 (above) and start again.

Hope this Helps guys.

I found that using the phone's USB connection in data storage mode and using the 'copy' function instead of 'send to' to transfer music from my computer worked. This took some trial and error (lots of error) and swearing at the phone!

I have read elsewhere that putting a new file called 'MP3' in the sounds folder also helps.

Kk to add music make sure you syn the phone and the cp do the data and all then put .mp3 on all the media files and see if it works. Then if that doesnt go to computor format the card and then put it in the phone. Otherwise you need new stuff.

What are the procedures for downloading music to my LGKC910

*Install the LG PC Suite software onto your PC. Once it's installed close it down.
*Plug the USB lead provided with the phone into the phone and then into your PC. Options will then be shown on your phone - PC Internet, Mass Storage, PC Suite and Music Sync. Select 'Music Sync'.
*Windows may bring up a box on the PC saying 'Portable Device', just close it.
*Now open LG PC Suite on your PC and it will start the connection wizard. Once that is done it brings up the LG PC Suite main screen. The only icon highlighted should be 'LG Music' so select that.
*Once LG Music starts up you just add you music using the Add to... button.

Mp3 function on LG KC550

Hello

  • Insert your memory card into your computer's reader if you have one. If not, you can purchase a multi-format USB Memory Card reader from Amazon.com or Buy.com
  • 2 Open up 'My Computer'. You should see it under the list of available drives.
  • 3 Check its contents first to make sure that you have the right drive.
  • 4 In 'My Computer', right-click on the drive and choose 'Format'.
  • 5 Leave all the options as they are and click on 'Start'. This is a non-reversible process so make sure this is what you truly wanted to do in the first place.
  • 6 Once the process is completed, take the memory card out and insert it into your Digital Camera or any other device. Try to browse to it to make sure it works fine now.
