How do I light the ignite pilot light

If it's a direct spark ignition type heater maybe that's how it's designed to.work .When called for heat pilot open allowing gas then ignitor spark and ignite the pilot then gas valve open and allow gas through burner then unit fires off .
Once temp is met pilot valve closes and pilot out .

I would suggest that you remove pilot assembly from gas valve and burner and clean pilot orifice and see if that helps. Be careful when cleaning hole in the orifice so you don't enlarge the hole. Good luck and thank you.

Your gas pressure may be too low causing pilot flame to shut when burners ignite.

it probably has a igniter, not a pilot light that lil hole is a check sight hole, close the door and set the drier to start , within a few seconds you should see a glow plug light up, if not,, check the main fuse in the back of the machine,, this is normally caused by a lack of flow for the drier vent and over heating

your pilot need to be check , most likely it is old and need to be change.
if it is old it will go on but not strong to signal the gas to kick in so it just go on for a few second and then when it feal no gas it turn off.
if your gas supplay is good then thats your problem the ignitor (pilot) good luck

No. There is a silicon carbide igniter that replaces the old pilot light.
Standing pilot lights were eliminated about 30 years ago.

Some dryers have a small inspection hole covered by a small platic cap.
Remove cap and look inside unit for pilot. Newer dryers have an igniter that glows when the dryer is turned on. It ignites the gas then goes out.

No. They are electronic ignition. just plug it in and hook it to gas and should heat up.

no pilot light has glow bar ignition ..ck to see if bar glows when start button is pressed should be small plastic cap on bottom of dryer front remove it to ckd for glow and burner operation

Pilot Light? Are you sure? All the gas dryers I've ever worked on were pilot-less. There should be a glow-type ignitor that heats up when the dryer is turned on. When it reaches a certain current potential a gas valve is opened and the burner ignites. How old is this dryer? Maybe this is something I've never seen before.
