If you still have the installation disc that came with your printer, please insert it in your computer hard drive to install the Lexmark fax software. If you don't have the disc, please contact Lexmark Technical Support Center for additional assistance. Thanks.
To send fax using the Lexmark X2500, the printer has to be connected to a computer with a fax modem. The Lexmark Fax Solutions software must be installed on your computer. The software is available on the installation disc that comes with your printer.
Open the unit to where you would normally access the printer cartridges. Unplug and after a minute replug the power cord. Printers are designed so that when the unit is open it stops at the middle so you can access the printer cartridges. Here is the manual for the 5150. There is a link on the left of the screen to give visual directions for replacing the cartridges.
I regret to inform you that the Fax solution software is not developed for Windows Vista operating system. However, you can use any other third party fax software that will work with Windows Vista.
