JVC AV-32730 36"... the tv turns on fine, but after 5 - 30 min or so, "sometimes" the picture all of a sudden go's black. it makes a weird "zzzt" sound when the picture shuts off. Sometimes, it comes back on after a while, sometimes it does'nt. giving the back of the tv a whack sometimes gets the picture to come back on, sometimes it does'nt. Is it worth fixing ?

From what you describe, a solder joint has probably cracked loose in a power supply or deflection circuit, which is quite common. Since you do sometimes see a good picture, all of your major components are fine. Repairing cracked solder joints is a very easy procedure and definately worth fixing on a 32 inch TV. The first 2 digits of the model number indicate the size of the TV.

You`re probably getting a on air channel which means that you have to check your cable connectors and splitter if you got any, switch with other sets if you can.

JVC 52 " Rear Projection TV Blinking Lights and no Picture

You need to replace the power supply board. The new ones have a bigger heat sink - obviously JVC knows about the problem because they made the new ones bigger. It cost $250 from JVC and I installed it myself - took about 3 hours to do. If you are not tech savvy call a repairman. Hope this helps.
