Software for praktica slimpix 5240 so i can copy on to my laptop when i take pictures and plug it into my usb its not reconised?

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). On the 5240 similar model you press the right hand navigation button on the back of the camera. It has a flash symbol engraved on it but not very clear on mine. The screen goes blank as if nothing happens but it is charging the flash and with fresh batteries will come back in 5sec or so. Then when you shoot it will flash, and there will be a flash symbol showing on the screen.....Press again to alter to fixed rather than auto flash, and again to turn off.

The software supplied with the camera is not compatible with Vista but just connect the camera to your pc, Vista will automatically download the pics.

can you give any more information. without more, i would say try going to the manufacturers website and download the newest copy of the software you are trying to install
