Installing arc fault interrupter with ground fault

The test / reset buttons are for a Ground Fault Interrupter built into the cord / washer. This device will help prevent deadly electric shock in the event of a malfunction - it is the same technology used in "GFI" electrical outlets located in bathrooms, outdoors, basements, etc.

You should have this serviced - or replaced before using.

GFCI is just a protected plug for use in wet areas - like Te one in your bathroom. Your sprinklers will work fine plugged into a regular outlet but it may void your warranty if something happens. If your timer is outside or not well protected from weather then consider installing one of these outlets.

If you meant arch fault with ground fault then no, the two types interfere with each other and trip the breaker as one senses an arch and the other grounding.
If you meant ground fault breaker with a GFCI. receptacle, you only need one of the two, either GFCI. breaker or receptacle.

and for circuits, you can put up to 12 devices (i.e receptacle, light)assuming they consume 1 amp each. Anything over 12 amps or 80% of the rating on the breaker, it will trip/reset.
Or if your talking about wires on a breaker then no more than 2 wires recommended. Try adding a junction box outside the panel if your trying to add other branch circuits or tap off of a receptacle.

In California It is code to have a ground fault receptacle where ever water is, Bathrooms, kitchen, laundry ect.
I have a older home that has 1ground fault for all receptacles located in the garage, so to update I have installed ground fault receptacles in all locations where water or dampness is present, even under the kitchen sink cabinets.

If you have a Bryant load center, you can use other breakers in it, including the Eaton GFCB120 GFI since several companies unified their design. The GFI (ground fault interrupter) or GFCI (ground fault circuit interrupter), same thing, may be required for a device you are installing, such as bathroom, kitchen or outdoor fixtures.
The Eaton series includes very clear installation instructions, but if your problem is that they are missing, then all you do is install the breaker in a open slot in the breaker panel, but you have to attach the neutral [white] wire differently. On regular breakers, the neutral goes right to the ground lug in the panel. With a GFI breaker, it goes through the breaker, and then is connected to the ground lug.

See if there are any ground fault circuit interrupter outlets in either room. Look especially in the bath. There are black and red pushbuttons on them. Press the reset and see if that helps.

This is a code based issue, and you MUST, MUST have a GFCI (Ground fault circuit interrupter) The tub should have the capacity specified on its box, somewhere. This job requires a permit in most areas, and serious liability exposure is present, and your insurance may not cover, without permits and inspections....

I presume that you are talking about a Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter. GFCI plug...

Eventually they just fail. Replace it, it is your safety that is on the line. Be sure that power is actually going to the plug. If there is another interrupter up stream that tripped, you can have the condition that you describe.

Turn off power before handling the plug. Also, look closely at which terminals you hook up to on the back of the plug. One set of connections is to allow for downstream socket protection, and not for power in. Some installations have one GFCI plug in one bathroom, and all other bathrooms are wired onto the downstream output terminals of the first plug. Kind of confusing for home owners, I think, when the circuit trips, now you have to go to OTHER bathrooms and check the outlet there... My preference is GFCI at the location where the user plugs in.

connect the neutral from the circuit to the afci breaker, and run the neutral that came on the afci breaker to the neutral bar in the panel. Make sure that the neutral that you connect from the circuit to the afci breaker is the one that belongs to the circuit that you're protecting or the afci wont work.

Are there any heaters anywhere in the circuit for this breaker? (ie: bathroom fan w/light and heater) If yes, I would suspect and inspect them first. Also,any type breaker will trip more easily if the electrical connection screws on the breaker are not tight enough...check to make sure that's not the case.
