The amp requires a 12 volt power constant, and a 12 volt "on" signal. you prolly have the 12 v "on" hooked up to the car stereo's antennae remote, meaning your amp gets power when the radio is on, cuase the radio is sending a signal to the amp (thinking that it is sending a signal to the antennae to raise)

you do have one of those collapsable antennas, right?

Hello. I need help installing an Eclipse sound system in my Dodge Ram 1500 Quad cab. I went from a Kenwood HU with db Drive 6.5's and 5x7's to the Eclipse CD3200 HU and noticed an immediate improvement...

So you wanna run the subs off of the rear pre amp output rather than just the sub out correct? just get a splitter and run both the rear speakers and sub off of rear channel and front off of front channel. or run all four off of front and subs off rear output. this should give you the sound you want

How can i test my rca output jacks with a test light? pioneer deh p3100ub. hooked up spkr, nothing. tried one rca plug to white(lt) and then red(rt). Unit has 4 rca jacks, 2 for subwfr and 2 for front...

:) the rca jacks have to be connected to an amplifier,, their signal is too lay to even light a bulb.. you have to connect it to a car amplifier and then from the amplifier to the speakers..

Just so you'd know,, once your deck plays and you hear music on your speakers through your normal speaker wires,, RCA jacks work..

Ok you have 4 jacks,, 2 subs and 2 front.. These should connect to a preamp,, which takes 4 inputs and allows you to equalize or adjust how the music should sound,, now from the pre-amp,, it runs to an amplifier,, thats powers the subs and another that powers the speakers.. Some amps have 4 inputs so you can use one amp for your subs mids and heights..

for example a basic music system is

1 cd player
1 pre amp
1 amplifier (4 inputs, 4 channel out)

you bridge 1+2 and connect this to 1 12" double coil sub woofer

the next 2 connect to 2 mid speakers example "rockford or ev 5 / 8 " and 2 tweeters for heights..

Thats a kicking tricked out basic car audio system,,,

Hope that helps you understand how it works..

PIONEER 300 WATT CAR STEREO AMP WIREING HOW TOO

depending on how many channels the amp is, you may not be able to hook everything up to it.

usually you have a separate amp for subs. 4 channel amp for the speakers in the car, and a mono amp for the subs.

To hook them all up to the same amp you would need an amp with 5 channels. It wouldn't work out right.

If you have a mono amp its only for subs.

If you have a 2 channel you can either hook it up to the rear speakers or bridge them to mono to run the subs.

you need a channel per speaker basically.

Sub will drain all the sound off the front speakers

if you have both amps connected to the same power wire this will happen...run another power wire to the alpine and this should solve the problem.

Jenson VM9311TS will not play all speakers in cd mode

YES!! You used the blue wire to turn on factory amp (blue wire to GM pink) you NEED to use the Blue/White wire. That is the amp turn on. The blue wire goes dead when you play a CD or DVD because it's for a power antenna. So, Blue/White ok?

I have a Pyle PLD3MU head unit and a sony XM-ZR1252 amp (2 channel) and the car has 2 door speakers, 2 rear deck speakers, and 2 12" subs. What is the best configuration to hook this up?

Run your 12" subs off the amp make sure to Xover for bass only.
Try running the 4 speakers direct to the stereo may not be enough power, Might have to invest in another amp and speaker upgrade to get it sounding just right.
But its a place to start.

Wiring

1st make sure your amp is coming on. Use another speaker that you have heard play to test it.
Next test the woofer with a 9 to 15 volt battery. Touch the battery leads quickly across the + and - on one side at a time. The speaker should move and make a pop on both voice coils.
If the amp plays and speakers play, then you need to know the power rating and impedence stability of both amp and speakers. That will determine how they are wired up.
