RCA EasyRip Program won't install

Save the download in a location on the computer and run the download for the easyRip installation.

1. Make sure the device is in MSC mode (this should be the default, but just make sure by going into the Settings on the device's menu and checking/changing the protocol)

2. Try an alternate USB port on your computer (if you are using a USB port on the front, try one on the back)

The easyRip installer is the application software for managing files on your computer and needs to be installed before transfers and drivers can be updated to the player.

I agree that RCA Easy Rip adds just about zero value; although i use my pearly everyday, I always access it via windows explorer as a removable drive.

I removed that program from the Pearl so it would stop asking if I wanted to install easyrip.

My suggestion for you is to run the installation software for easyrip again. I think this will help for one of two reasons:

1. Being unable to uninstall from control panel is unusual and suggests an incomplete or corrupted installation. Reinstalling may fix the installation enough to use control panel's uninstall feature.
2. Many software setup routines, upon finding the software already setup, will ask you if you want to remove it rather than install it a second time.

How long has it been since you installed it? If recently try this option (system restore) will take you back to before you installed it. Start/all programs/system tools/system restore. A screen will pop up and should give you a calender of events. You want to check the day before you installed the software and it will restore your computer programs back to that day. (you will not loose file/music etc) only computer programs will be lost that were installed after that day and you will need to resinstall if any. This my take 5-10 minutes depending on your pc. It will tell you its complete but do not disrupt the process once its started.

I know that sometimes certain USB ports don't give the information that the installer is looking for. Try a different USB port on the PC and see if that works. Make sure you have the latest version of easyRip from:

(AND make sure the device is in MSC mode)

I resolved my error and maybe you should try uninstall, install one more time.
For what ever reasons, I uninstalled the programs then reinstalled the program and the files are complete again.
I know I did this once before and it did not fix the problem either times so perhaps you can try it one more time.
Simply ask the RCA software to uninstall from your pc harddrive, making sure that all the files have been removed including any RCA Detective and EasyRip. Then go to the RCA website and sort through the Support and Download Updates and find the EasyRip software you can download for free from the site and follow the instructions, making sure that your player is connected to the pc while you install the software again.

2nd program SMV Converter.

Have this convert the file to a smv file.
After its converted just drag and drop into the video section of your mp3 player.

go to settings menu on device and chang protocal (only 2 choices)
