Psp game install failed 8022008C

I tried to download a game from the Sony Store and it seemed to download ok, then starting to install, when it went to install it says "install failed (8022008C)" after a few seconds. I have tried 2 times. when I go to games, memory stick, the folder says data corrupt. They (my boys) have a little game progress saved on it so I know the stick works. Also I have 3824MB space available & game Im downloading is 420 MB, so there is plenty of room. HELPPPP!!!!!!!!!

From Sony's website:
The Memory Stick has malfunctioned.
Try downloading, installing, formatting, etc. for a couple of times. If the error persists, try another Memory Stick.

SOURCE: sony psp

If you tried to delete the save game from the memory stick and it's not letting you. Copy what you need off of the memory stick to your PC via the usb cable and reformat your memory stick.

Auto shut off when starting a game.

Sounds like your psp has been "bricked"

This can often happen while trying to "hack" your psp or trying to download games without the proper hacks.

You will need to have it reset by the game store or sony.

It means the game is either corrupt or not an official release from Sony. Official games can only be downloaded from the PlayStation Store.

I have recently updated my PSP to version 5.50 and was able to connect to the online store, and I can easily connect to my wireless internet and is at 100% at all times. Where I am having trouble is after...

i beleive it is a memory stick problem. try installing a game on a different memory stick, and if it doesn't work, you'll just have to buy a new psp or not download games. also, you can try going on www.us.playststion.com/support, or call sony tech support

Firmware 4.01 is not installing in my psp

I think you are trying to install a CFW update on an OFW PSP. Just rename 401.PBP to EBOOT.PBP and get rid of the other EBOOT.PBP.
