A shadowy or 3D image is caused by the convergence not being aligned. If your model has a convergence menu goto it and see if you can adjust the colors so that they are all straight and aligned. If so the 3d shadows will go away. If however it wont adjust the convergence has failed and would need to be to repair the TV yourself or with a company. Convergence repairs are common a fairly easy DIY fix.

Nikon d-90, shadows in pictures

if you're using pop up flash, you'll get more shadows doing a portrait shot than a landscape shot just due to the position of the flash bulb and the angle the shadows are cast.

My hitachi big screen has red shadows on picture how do i fix it

What you described sounds like a convergence problem. When convergence has failed the colors will commonly look 3D,warped, etc. This tips page here on Fixya has more details.

I just replaced the color wheel on my samsung hln5065w. Picture is great but there is a shadow on the right side of screen from top to bottom. The shadow on the top of the screen is wider across the screen...

Its a Good Possibilty that its the New Color Wheel causing this,if the colors are not complete on the color wheel then that will be why you are seeing shadow on right hand side of screen.
I know I ordered color wheel for mine and had to send it back,it did the same thing.
I compared it to the old color wheel and the new one did not have Solid colors on it.

Can you see picture behind the shadow? or is it shadow and no picture?

Canon 1400 IS: When I take a picture using flash of a close up object, a shadow is cast on the lower right corner of the picture. For pictures that are not taken close up with flash, or taken from further...

It's most likely the shadow of the lens. The flash is above and to the left of the lens, so the shadow of the lens will be to the right and below.
